Part 1

Chapter 7||

{Sadie's POV} I stare into Andrew's green eyes. Then, I realize what I'm doing and quickly look away. "We should uh, warm up the dogs...." We make a pen for the dogs out of logs so they have their own area. Then, Andrew unloads the supplies while I unload the dogs. We remain silent. I think Andrew is a little embarrassed. Or he feels rejected, I feel horrible. "The dog stuff is over there", he says. "Ok" {Andrew's POV} Sadie begins tending to the dogs. She's always loved dogs and she's amazing at tending to them. It's key in our journey to keep the dogs in good condition. "It's getting dark", she says in a monotone voice. "I'll go get some firewood", I say. "Be careful!", she says. She gets up and hugs me and nearly knocks me over. "Ok I'll be fine!" I walk out of the cave. As soon as I'm out of sight I run and pick up as much wood as I can. As fast as I can. I don't want Sadie to get worried or start unpacking my bag. She can't see what's in there!

Chapter 8||

{Andrew's POV} I hurry back to the cave. I cringe at every step I take. I finally reach the cave and set down the huge bundle of wood. "Sadie!!! I'm back!!!!" She runs out of the cave and jumps into my arms. "What took so long?!?", she says into my shoulder. "I wasn't gone that long", I say and roll my eyes. "It felt like an eternity!!!!!", Sadie exclaims. Her eyes getting wide like an excited child. {Sadie's POV} I was overreacting but I just wanted to show Andrew that I care. I think I hurt him earlier. He lightly sets me on the ground and mumbles,"Let's start the fire and check our supplies." I could tell he didn't want to let go. {Andrew's POV} Sadie got the fire started while I unpacked my pack. Being careful that Sadie didn't see what I concealed with a pair of extra socks. I let her unpack her own though. I know I wouldn't want her going through my stuff. When she walks over and sits down next to me she busies herself by unpacking I pull out a tiny box that I was hiding form her. {Sadie's POV} Andrew whispers my name and turn around slowly. He holds a tiny, velvet box. "Close your eyes!", he says. I obediently close my eyes without thinking. He put something cold and metal around my neck and I lift up my hair. "Ok open!", he looks extremely elicited and anxious. I look down and find a necklace with two delicate charms hanging around my neck. All that manages to escape my mouth is"Oh Andrew!"||

Chapter 9||

{Andrew's POV} I smiled wide at Sadie's shocked expression, very pleased with myself. "It was my mothers." I blurt out. "Andrew",Sadie sighs. "There are two stars. It represents a couple and their love for each other. I love you Sadie and you will always be my star." {Sadie's POV} I stare at Andrew in awe. I don't even know what I had just gotten myself into. What he just said was deep love, he would never break my heart. I'm not ready for a relationship. I can't break his heart now, I'm the only one repairing it. I have to learn to love Andrew, but how? I'll have to spend the next few days figuring it out. Whatever I do I can't break Andrew and I don't want to get hurt again. Instead of saying anything I put my hands on Andrew's shoulders, look into his green eyes and lean in slowly. I kiss him hard,on the lips for what feels like forever. If only love was this easy, but maybe it can be. Andrew is the only one who knows my story. Hopefully he won't hurt me like the last one did.||

Chapter10||

{Andrew's POV} I savor the warmth of Sadie's lips pressed against mine. I don't want to be the first to pull away,but I don't want to seem so clingy. I reluctantly pull away and gaze into Sadie's eyes. "You are perfect." , I smile. {Sadie's POV} I am far from perfect. I wish he would not say that. I scrunch up my face. I playfully punch Andrew in the shoulder. "Am not!" We both laugh. Then I remember, what happened to me last year. {Andrew's POV} I can tell Sadie is in the middle of a painful flashback. "Sadie",I touch her shoulder. I know exactly what she saw. "It won't happen again. I won't hurt you. I promise. Sadie I love you. No matter what you do, nothing will change that." A silent tear runs down her face. I pull her into a huge hug and I stroke her hair as she sobs over her traumatic past. "Shhhh. Nobody will hurt you now. I'll protect you.||

Chapter 11||

{Sadie's POV} Andrew and I stand there, Andrew holds me tight to his chest while I continue to sob. I hate to be crying like this. I guess I have been holding in my feelings in until now. Then, I realize this is exactly what I needed. It's not just Lucas I was crying about. I'm not that shallow. Andrew understands me. I can-I do love him. I calm down and look at Andrew. He gently brushes away my tears. "Andrew I love you", it feels good to say that. I draw in a deep breath and let it out in a relieved sigh. Although it came out a little shaky because I have been crying. My whole body feels warm. The same way I felt about Lucas before he broke me. It's ok now, I think to myself. Andrew will take great care of me and I will do the same for him. I have him, he has me. It will be perfect. But I can't entirely forget my past. At least Andrew won't make the same mistakes. Hopefully.||

Chapter 12||

{Sadie's POV}"Andrew, we need to talk" "Did I do something wrong?", he looks at me with a pouty lip mockingly. "No Andrew this is serious. We need to talk about us.", Andrew looks a little scared. To assure him that it's ok I brush my fingers in his palm before lacing them with his. "But first lets build a fire." We walk hand in hand with an awkward silence between us. Andrew lifts the huge bundle of wood and makes a pile. I get the matches out of my backpack and hand them to Andrew. He busies himself by starting the fire while I unpack my bag. I start to talk"Andrew, the only reason I agreed to this relationship is because you would never hurt me. Right?" "Sadie I know exactly what Lucas did to you and I promise you with all my heart I would never betray you like that!! Lucas acted like a self-centered jerk!!", at this time I'm sitting next to Andrew by the fire. "I'm glad to hear you say that!", I smile brightly and kiss Andrew on the cheek. {Andrew's POV} I completely understand why Sadie would be worried after coming off a relationship like that. Lucas was a cheater and a jerk. I tried being nice to him but he hated me and made it known. When Sadie was done being blinded by what she thought was love. She realized how horrible Lucas really was to me and also found out he was dating another girl. Sadie was furious and dumped him immediately! I was there to comfort her. When her beautiful, white smile is gone for months you start to get depressed. Well I do anyways. So, seeing that smile tonight made me smile too. Her deep brown eyes with the reflections of fire in them also stood out. I hold Sadie tight. I will never let her go.||
