"thea, what did you want to ask me before?" lando asked the mother of his children as their guests started to begin to leave, the only ones staying behind for a little bit longer being their family's, mason and ben.
"oh yeah, i was wondering if you wanted to stay over tonight?" her question made his eyes widen in shock, he didn't know if he'd ever hear that come out of her mouth again but he was so glad that it did.
"are you being serious?" before thea got to reassure him that she was, they had to say goodbye to a couple of their guests, this time it being george and carmen.
"yeah, louis misses you and..." she paused, wondering whether she should carry on her sentence or not, finally choosing to when she saw the hopeful look on his face. "and so do i."
it didn't take very long for the trio to return home, louis falling asleep ten minutes before leaving the venue in bens arms, the little boy not waking up once on the way home or even whilst thea was getting him changed; soft snores escaping his mouth, making a smile grow on her face as she watched over him for a moment.
"can i ask you a massive favour?" thea looked over at lando with the best puppy dog eyes that she could do as they sat on the large grey couch, one of the friday night dinner episodes playing in the background, the sight of her making lando cave in. if there was one thing that was identical between louis and thea, it was their puppy dog eyes, the pair of them always getting what they wanted from lando. "will you shave my legs for me please?"
"do you remember when you asked me to do this with louis?" lando chuckled at the memory, thea joining in with him as more and more positive memories ran through her mind.
"i remember it like it was yesterday."
nostalgic. if there was one word to describe the emotions that lando and thea were feeling during that moment, it would be nostalgic.
however, this very situation made them question. question what could have happened if lando never cheated, if thea never had the miscarriage and if they never had their first major argument that night. but as thea told herself, everything happens for a reason, we just need to find that very reason.
"there's some extra pillows and blankets in the cupboard if you want them." "and i've sorted out the bathroom for you." although the former couple had had an enjoyable night, the young mother wanted to avoid any uncomfortable questions that lando may have sprung upon her so she left him alone as quickly as she physically could.
however, trying to fall asleep in the bed where they both used to lay seemed impossible for thea, she had absolutely no luck on falling asleep and she knew why. knowing that lando was in the room facing hers was slowly killing her and after a few minutes of contemplating with herself, she decided to take a risk, just like he had done at the gender reveal.
