Third person ~

Elijah paced back and forth while waiting for Rosalie to awaken from her slumber. To say he was worried was an understatement. Every other time he'd taken the foreign object out of her body, it only took around half an hour for her to return to her bubbly, happy, partly alive self.

He didn't know how to feel right now. Guilt? Shame? Excitement? Anger? He really didn't know. He recalled Hayley telling him that Rebekah knew, but he refused to be angry at her as he knew his brother most likely had something to do with it.

If he was angry at anyone, it would be Niklaus and himself. Klaus for the obvious reason, but himself for believing his brother. He couldn't help but be angry at himself for never running in that burning building to save her. He chose to believe his brother when he claimed to see Rosalie burn to ashes, and couldn't do anything to save her.

He vowed to protect her, but he couldn't help but feel as if he failed.

His thoughts were interrupted by a loud gasp from the coffin that laid in the room. Elijah scurried towards Rosalie, bringing her into his embrace. "Rose, you're ok, You're ok." he gushed as she was trying to catch her breath.

"Elijah?" she uttered in disbelief. "Shh. I'm so sorry." he apologised. Instead of receiving words, Rosalie pulled him into a passionate kiss.

This was the kiss both of them had been yearning for near a hundred years for. All anger, guilt, and fear of losing each other again varnished as soon as their lips collided. Instead, it was replaced with, passion, love, and joy.

Their kiss was cut short when Rosalie cried in pain, pushing herself back. "What's wrong?"Elijah worriedly raised his voice.

She moved her hair away from her neck and revealed the infected werewolf bite. "We don't have long." she bit back tears as she spoke.

He grabbed onto her face. "Niklaus blood, it's the cure. Normally we can wait it out, but I-I don't know if a hybrid bite can kill us or not."He stammered out. He grabbed on her waist and pulled her into his arms, as Rosalie tried to say calm.

"the in sickness part of our vows finally coming in handy." She jokes, trying to ease the fear behind both of their eyes. Just as Elijah was about to speak, they were both pulled into a memory.

Tenth century

Rosalie and Elijah stood by a raging fire, burning her husband's dead body to ashes. The two decided that once the storm had completely passed, that they would meet in the forest to dispose the body.
