Before getting into it, I wanted to make it clear that obviously in the 1800s, Dutch natives speak Dutch and Makassar natives use Mangkasara, but, for the sake of me having more control with the dialogues, they will be said in English for the Dutch and Indonesian for the 'Dutch East Indies'. I'm not quite sure if I could use Indonesian, but it symbolizes the language barrier within the friendship which is a big part in this short story.
This story also does not make sense AT ALL and as you slowly get into it, you could see I was rushing. I profusely apologize for the complicated and horrid plot as I have no experience of writing a short story and also only having a day to write this, thank you for your time.
