Chapter 48: Pancakes & Maple Syrup

Start from the beginning

Once both of us were done getting ready, we headed downstairs, and I began to prepare our breakfast. I managed to find some pancake mix in Suho's pantry, so I quickly made enough pancakes for the two of us to share.

Once the pancakes were done, I placed three pancakes onto Suho's plate and three onto my own. Suho walked over to the fridge and grabbed some maple syrup before taking a seat at the table, sitting right in front of me. I watched as he drizzled some syrup onto his pancakes, passing me the bottle afterwards so that I could also drizzle some onto my pancakes.

While I ate, I glanced over at Suho every now and then. He seemed to really enjoy the pancakes, stuffing them into his face fairly quickly.

Soon enough, we were both done eating, so we each placed our empty plates in the sink.

"Let's ride my motorcycle to school," I told Suho, and though he was hesitant at first to the idea, he eventually agreed. Since I didn't have my backpack, I noted that we'd need to quickly stop at my house so that I could get it.

Right as the both of us were about to leave Suho's house, he suddenly stopped me in front of the door, blocking it so that I couldn't exit.

"Wait, before we go, I uhm...I have a question to ask you," he said.

"Oh, uh well what is it?" I replied, a bit confused.

"I was just wondering...what are we?" he timidly asked, waiting for my answer. I smirked at his sudden shyness, finding it cute.

"Well," I said as I reached my hands out, interlacing our fingers, "What do you want us to be?"

"Boyfriends," he admitted, and I couldn't help but notice the tinge of red that now colored his cheeks.

With a grin was now plastered onto my face, I asked, "Will you be my boyfriend Suho?"

After he nodded his head, I smashed our lips together, feeling more than satisfied with his answer. The taste of maple syrup still lingered on his lips, invading my mouth as the kiss deepened. I didn't want to pull away, enjoying the delightful sensation way too much, but once I was out of breath, I had no choice but to break off the kiss.

I lightly pecked his lips one last time before placing my hand on the doorknob, holding the door open for him.

"Thanks," he smiled.

We rode to school together on my motorcycle, making sure to stop at my house on the way there so that I could grab my backpack.

After parking my motorcycle in the school's parking lot, the two of us headed inside the building, hand in hand. There seemed to be nobody else in the hallway other than us, so we didn't need to worry about hiding our relationship from the other students quite yet.

We walked into class right as the bell rang. Suho let go of my hand, and I immediately missed the warmth of it. However, I understood that he might not be ready to let others know that we were dating yet, so I didn't say anything about it. We both sat down at our desks.

Ju-kyung, who sat down at a desk next to me, seemed to be staring at me with extra suspicion. Had she seen Suho and I holding hands in the hallway? Certainly not...right?

"Hey class! Today we're going to be working on a partner quiz! Surprise! Once everyone finds a partner I'll hand out the quizzes, and they'll be due by the end of class.

"You're kidding-," I groaned, and I could hear all the other students complain about the sudden quiz too.

"Hey, let's be partners," Ju-kyung said, placing her hand on top of mine.

I looked over at her in complete disbelief. Did she not understand that I didn't want to talk to her? I was still mad at her for what she had said about Suho.

Feeling uncomfortable, I quickly pulled my hand out of her grasp. Later I'd need to break up with her, and tell her that I like someone else.

"Actually, I'm gonna be partners with Suho," I told her before turning and facing his direction.

"Is there anyone who still needs a partner?" the teacher asked after a minute. Ju-kyung awkwardly raised her hand, and a guy near the front of the class also raised his hand.

"Okay, then you two can be partners," the teacher said, pointing at Ju-kyung and the other kid. I could feel her glaring at me as she got up from her desk and sat by the other guy.

A quiz was then handed out to everyone. Once I took a look down at the sheet, I became overwhelmed by all of the numbers and symbols.

"I have no clue what any of this means," I admitted to Suho.

"You better not make us fail, or else I'll have to punish you," Suho scolded me, tapping me on the head with his pencil.

"Kinkyy~" I teased, earning myself a kick in the shin from Suho. He quickly looked around the classroom, making sure that nobody heard my remark.

"Oww," I whined, trying not to be too loud so that I wouldn't get yelled at by the teacher.

The two of us worked on the quiz together, finishing a few minutes before the bell rang. I was pretty confident that we would get a good grade.

While Suho and I were walking in the halls, heading in the direction of our next class, I couldn't help but notice that we were getting some weird stares by the other students. It seemed like they were whispering something about us as they glanced down at their phones, and then back up at us.

"What's going on?" I whispered to Suho.

"I don't know," he mumbled in confusion, disliking all the sudden attention from the other students.

Fed up, I walked up to one of the students and grabbed their phone, checking to see what they were murmuring about.

My eyes widened once I looked down at the phone screen.

A picture of Suho and I holding hands in the hallway was spreading throughout the school.

"Who took this...?" I asked the owner of the phone.

"Oh uh- I don't know, nobody knows actually," they awkwardly replied.

Now one thought filled my mind.

Who took the photo?
