Chapter 17

I guess Mirabelle is bringing him out of his shell.

After he said that Gianni said "We're gonna go check on her." He didn't even look at me.

After he and the triplets left I looked back at dad and saw him looking at me with hurt in his eyes.

"Dad I-" I started but he raised his hand making me shut my mouth immediately. The last thing I want is to make him even madder.

"I'm very disappointed in you Giovanni. I didn't raise you like this. It's your job as her big brother to protect her and make sure a tear never falls from her beautiful eyes. And what did you do?" He said in a stern voice I knew too well.

I didn't answer and looked at the floor ashamed. When I didn't answer he asked again.

"What did you do Giovanni?" He gritted through his teeth obviously getting irritated by my lack of response.

"I...I made her cry." I mumbled still looking down on the floor.

"And?" He questioned further.

"A...and I hurt her." I said after clearing my throat.

He nodded his head as his glazed over. After a couple seconds he said "Do you remember when you would come into my office, jump and sit on my lap and tell me that you wanted a baby sister?"

I remember very well. I would barge into dad's office jump in his arms and would constantly ask for a baby sister. He would always tell me maybe in the future. Every birthday I would wish for a sister.

"You got what you wished for, so why are you treating your sister like this?" He asked in a low voice.

I opened my mouth to answer when I was cut off by yelling and screaming .

"ALFONSO." Gianni yelled at the top of his lungs.

We looked at each other wide-eyed before rushing towards where the screaming is coming from.

It took us a while since the screaming was far away.

"ALFONSO HELP." Gianni yelled again making my heart beat faster.

We reached the staircase and what we saw made us halt our steps.

Ezekiel was on his knees holding a bloody unconscious Mirabelle in his arms. Gianni was doing compressions and mumbling 'come on, come on' over and over again.

Elias and Elijah were standing clutching each other's hands while tears were rolling down their cheeks.

I looked at my sister and couldn't believe what I was seeing. This is all my fault. I told her to die and now I may never see her again.

I looked at dad and saw a tear fall. I never saw dad cry. Alexander looked like he about to murder someone. Vincent and Leonardo were holding back tears. Alfonso rushed to her side and started feeling for a pulse.

"No no no come on come on." He started mumbling with tears in his eyes. Oh god please please let my sister survive.

Please Mirabelle you need to survive. I promise I won't be rude I will apologize and spoil you with hugs and kisses.

I will apologize to every hurtful word I said. I will spend every second with her.

Alfonso suddenly said "i have a pulse!". Sighs of relief escaped all of us.

I'm pretty sure I heard dad prying next to me.

Alfonso picked her up gently and started making his way to the medical wing in the house with us following behind him like lost puppies.

My mind drifted to what Mirabelle said. What did she mean shitty childhood and piece of shit mother.

I remember a bit about that witch. She never really cared about us or took care of us. It was all dad and with the help of my uncles, aunts and grandparents.

If she wasn't a good mother to us then I'm guessing that she wasn't a good one to Mirabelle too.

Once we reached Alfonso put her on the bed and started attaching all kinds of wires on her. He also added a breathing mask.

The only thing now indicating that she's alive is the rise and fall of her chest.

All of us were waiting in the hallway waiting for Alfonso to come out.

Please wake up so I can apologize and make up for all those things that I said to you.
