I felt it again. A tugging sensation at my wrist. I tried not to look at the source, I'd certainly be held captive, never to see light again if anyone noticed. I already learned about what happens to beings like me. Beings that have potential to form the strongest bonds with their partners. I'm still in school. Look at it when you're safely in your room. Not right now. I turned my gaze back to what my teacher was rambling on about.
"- is a place where nobody has ever ventured out and came back in one piece."
I let my mind wander.
"-and you should never ever go there under any circumstances, or else you'd- Akira! Are you listening to me?"
I immediately snapped out of my musings, careful not to show any sign of daydreaming on my face.
"Yes, Mrs. Serenity" I smiled docilely, making my voice as sweet as I could. She sent me a doubtful look. "Then explain to me why you should never go into the unknown?" she quizzed.
"Because it's a place nobody knows about and is very dangerous." I replied, smirking inwardly. She frowned, clear that she expected me not to know the answer. And I didn't, but I wasn't called a genius for nothing was I?
The school bell rang, signaling the end of school. I shoved everything into my bag and hurried back to my home. I ran through the kitchen and living room like a whirlwind, shouting "I'm back mom, I'll be in my room!" as I went. As soon as I reached my room, I tossed my backpack to a cushioned place and leapt onto my bed. Leaning against the headboard, I scrutinized the multiple bandages wrapped around my arm. The alternative to keeping up an illusion, which proved to be too taxing for me as I passed out within the first few hours. As I started unwrapping the bandages, I saw the soft red glow radiating from under the bandages. When I finished unwrapping the bandages, I took a look and sure enough, the red thread wrapped around my wrist was still there, the energy humming softly around it.

Constructive feedback is always welcome!
I won't be editing all that often (School and everything y'know?) but this won't be abandoned!
