Chapter 47

"Yeah, but it's the best" said Aomine. "This is the kind of opponent I want"
"That's why I said..." said Murasakibara and sighed...
I kept an eye on the bench of Jabberwock.

"Emi?" said Tetsuya and laid his hand on my shoulder.
"Guys" I said before they went onto the court. "Don't let your guard down. They're going to play serious now"
"You got it, Maedacchi" said Kise.

"Don't worry, Emi. We got this" said Seijuro.
"Let the fun begin" said Aomine.

The second quarter began with Aomine versus Jason Silver.
But Silver got past Aomine...
He even won in a game of strength against Murasakibara.

Silver was getting excited... he managed to block a shot from Seijuro.
"Oh you have got to be joking!" I shouted when I saw Silver jump from the free throw line.
He dunked it hard...
"Kagami-kun" said Tetsuya.

"From the lane-up to a windmill" said Kagami. "That jump... even I haven't done it"
"And don't even think about it doing that in this game" I said. "Otherwise you can look for someone else to tape your legs"
"Did you watch, monkeys?!" shouted Silver. "You can't do this even if you spent your whole life trying! Hard work is only a factor! This is the absolute power difference!"

We took a time out... Silver was blocking everything.
"Well then, this is bad" said Kagetora. "Just like Maeda predicted, they also finally started showing their abilities"
"Murasakibara-kun" said Tetsuya. "Are you alright?"

"It was easy though" said Murasakibara. "But that guy pisses me off, I'll make sure to crush him!"
"With the current five members, the balance is good but there is no good barricade to stop Silver" said Kagetora. "I'll change players. Akashi, Midorima out. Kuroko, Kagami in"
"Wait!" said Murasakibara and stood up. "Does that mean...?!"

"You catch on fast" said Kagetora. "Kagami will be put in to strengthen the inside. Kise, you handle being the Point Guard in place of Akashi. With your capabilities you can do it"
"No, not that" said Murasakibara. "That guy I can handle alo..."

"Murasakibara" said Seijuro. "Agree with Coach's orders. For you alone, winning is impossible. As of now, yes. If that wasn't the case, then I would've supported you. But for now, Coach's idea is best. Besides the team's victory or one's victory? Which is more important? You should know that well enough"

Tetsuya gave me his shirt and I smiled.
"Go out there and kick their asses" I said.
"Yes" he said and quickly squeezed my hand before leaving.

"Good job calming him down, Sei" I said.
"I just agreed with the Coach" said Seijuro.
"Uh oh" I said when I heard what Jabberwock was saying about Tetsuya.

"What's wrong?" asked Seijuro.
"They're calling Tetsuya a kid" I said. "Way to piss Tetsu off"
Silver got past Murasakibara, but Kagami caught up and even Aomine came to help.

They blocked the shot.
Tetsuya used his Ignite Pass Kai to Kise.
We managed to score, they were playing well together.

Well... as well as expected...
"Hey, Kise!" shouted Aomine. "Why did you pass to him?!"
"Aominecchi you were marked, right?!" said Kise.

"What's wrong with me scoring?!" shouted Kagami.
I rolled up my sleeves and they all flinched.
"If you have time to bicker, you have time to play basketball" I said.
"Sorry!" they all shouted and I sighed.

Murasakibara and Kagami double-teamed on Silver.
But Silver refused to pass and played right into our hands.
Aomine followed up and stole the ball.

He passed to Tetsuya, badly... but Tetsuya caught it and passed to Kise.
The second quarter ended, Jabberwock was in the lead by two points.

Silver broke a chair, but Gold managed to calm him down...
It honestly scared me...
"I don't understand... it seems they stopped fussing" said Hyuga.

Tetsuya laid his hand on my shoulder and I relaxed.
"Sorry" I whispered.
"For real. They're too pissed to call a fuss" said Wakamatsu.

"They're just being annoying is all" said Aomine.
"Okay, you guys" said Kagetora. "You did well previous quarter. Let's do the same this quarter. But don't let your guards down"
"That wasn't their full power" I said. "The real showdown begins from here on"

Tetsuya squeezed my shoulders.
"Be careful" I whispered and he let his forehead rest against mine.
"Of course" he said and smiled.

They went back onto the field after the break.
Gold had the ball...
"Sei" I whispered and Seijuro looked at me. "What's up with that guy? He gives me a really, really bad vibe"
Gold passed to his teammate, right next to Kise's face.
Jabberwock managed to block the Kagami-Tetsuya shot...

Murasakibara fell, and I saw him bleed.
I ran onto the court with my medical kit.
"Referee time!" shouted the referee.

"Murasakibara!" I said and checked his head. "How do you feel?"
"I'm fine, Mae-chin" said Murasakibara.

"Even for monkeys you should be able to comprehend, right?" said Gold. "No matter how much you try with those hands, a little pass of mine is good enough to end it all. If you try to stop Silver, others can't be stopped. If you try to stop others, Silver can't be stopped. Fundamentally, our differences are hemispheres apart. From here on, we'll teach you true despair"

"I'm getting really pissed off" I said and quickly put a bandage on Murasakibara's head. "It's fine, I don't think it's serious"
"Thanks, Mae-chin" said Murasakibara and I ran back to the bench.

"Sei, he's like you" I said after seeing a few passes.
The gap was widening...
"What do you mean?" asked Seijuro.

"Your eyes" I said. "He has them too"
"White! Member change!" announced the referee.
Seijuro got subbed in for Tetsuya.

"Oh, Sei" I smiled when I saw what he had planned. "This will be good"
Kise and Aomine formed a double team, Aomine in the Zone and Kise using Perfect Copy.
"Creepy as hell if you ask me" I chuckled.
Kise managed to steal the ball.
But my hunch was right, Gold had the same eyes as Seijuro...
