Chapter 14

Liam flailed his arms "What if they come in here and those things don't work, What if you have an asthma attack again? What are we gonna do?" He asked a bundle of questions

"I don't know." Scott answered honestly, not wanting to lie any more.

"This plan sucks!" Liam yelled

"You got a better one!" Scott snapped, his tempter rising "Kids are dying! And she's next. So, somebody has to do something. Somebody has to save everyone. So somebody's got to be the bait!" Scott yelled.

Alex couldn't help but scoff under her breath. Scott preached that everyone could be saved, that no matter what they always save people and now.. now he's willing to risk a 16 year olds life to catch something. All he could do right now is preach hypocrisy.

Alex's sadness toward Scott was slowly turning to anger, day by day he gave her more and more reasons for her anger to take over.

If it were any other time or place she'd speak up but tension had already risen and she didn't want to be the one to add to it.

Liam swallowed, fear setting in "Scott, Promise me you'll do everything you can to save her." Liam asked.

Scott stayed silent not wanting to make a promise he couldn't be sure would be fulfilled.

Liam looked at Scott, his eyes wide with hope as he waited for the reassuring words Scott had always managed to find "Scott... Promise."

"I'll do everything I can. I promise" he promised, regretting it instantly

The tension had slowly deflated, now that everything was out in the open and settled. Alex decided to try one last time, she knew now wasn't the right time but Lately with Scott, there was never a right time

"Okay Scott I really need to-

"Alex could you just wait for one night!" He yelled.

Alex took a step back, feeling a small lump emerge in her throat. She swallowed thickly and blinked back the tears in her eyes.

Lydia had snapped her head towards the alpha, now glaring at him "Scott" she said in a warmed tone

Alex shook her head "It's em... it's okay, It eh... it can wait"

"Guys..." Hayden broke the award silence that had fallen "I think I might need a little help right now, I forgot my pills. I have a bottle in my locker. I can get them, but... "

"I'll get them. What's your combination?" Scott cut in, needing a reason to leave the room

Hayden gave Scott her combination and he left leaving Lydia to watch the door in case something were to come uninvited.

Alex sat on a bench at the back of the room, staring blankly at the wall.

She couldn't help but think of Scott, she didn't Blame him for hating her, he has every right to. She killed someone. Tracy was innocent and if Alex had the eyes of a wolf they'd be blue.

But in all that sadness, all the excuses she made for Scott she still felt mad -mad that when her father who had done way worse-  offered peace and it was taken immediately but maybe it was all for Allison.

Liam looked over at Alex and seen she was in a daze, as he walked over to sit beside her he could feel her sadness roll off of her shoulders, He sat down beside her and nudged her lightly, she turned her head and smiled weakly

"Are you okay?" He asked

She nodded "yeah.. yeah I'm fine" she lied.

"Alex, I don't need to listen to know you're lying" he told her

Alex smiled a little at the young wolf "it's nothing that won't fix itself"

"It's Scott isn't it?" He asked "Scott never yelled at you like that before"

"Yeah" Alex nodded "but don't worry about it"

Liam parted his lips to respond but he was interrupted by the the loud static noise that filled the air.

They both jumped to their feet, Alex walked to the front of the room Liam following behind.

She grabbed her gun and pointed it forward"Stay behind me" She ordered Liam and Hayden

Loud footsteps made their way to the door, their static gurgles filling the air.

A dread doctor walked in, staring at their previous invention "Success"

"What are they talking about" Liam asked

"I'm a chimera, I was made years ago" she gave the brief details

"We are on a frequency you can't possibly imagine." One spoke walking towards the three scared teenager.

Alex shot a bullet and her eyes widened when she seen it didn't make a dent, in fact it almost bounced back to her.

This is when she was suppose to fight, this is when she was suppose to take on the creepy men cloaked with metal. But she was frozen still, all she could see was the distorted imagine of Tracy. Tracy being injected by one of the doctors, the same doctors who Made Alex want she was.

A dread doctor walked toward Alex and grabbed her neck, before she could fight against it, it pulled out a needle and injected her with an unknown substance
