WE WERE brought to another laboratory but this time, there were doctors or scientists around, carrying and checking stuffs.

When we entered the new laboratory, one man who was in the midst of wearing his white plastic gloves stopped to look at our direction.

“Sila ba?” he asked in a monotonous voice. Binalik niya ang paningin sa kamay at saka tinuloy ang pagsusuot ng gloves.

“Yes,” sagot naman ng babaeng kasama namin.

The doctor eyed us before he nodded. “Sumunod kayo sa 'kin.”

Hindi pa kami nakagalaw ay may humawak na sa mga braso namin. Mga humanoid assistants pala 'yon, kinaladkad nila kami pasunod do'n sa doctor.

We went inside a room with three operating tables and a lot of apparatuses. May mga nakahanda ng mga gamit na pang-operation. I slowly gulped.

I watched the doctor hastily wore the medical mask and gathered his equipments and other tools. He grabbed something that has the same shape as a bottle spray and without a word, he filled the whole room with a foggy smoke.

Napapikit kaagad ako at napaubo. I was about to say something when I suddenly felt my knees tremble. Unti-unting nawawala ang lakas ko hanggang sa bumagsak ako sa sahig. My vision started to become blurry.

“This method has always been more effective that injected anesthesia. It makes my work more easier,” dinig kong sabi ng doctor.

I used the last bit of my strength to look up at the doctor. I saw him grab a knife before I completely lost my consciousness.

I GASPED AND quickly opened my eyes. Nasa loob pa rin kami ng room pero this time, nakahiga na kami. I quickly stood up and look at my friends.

Kagigising lang din yata nila. I noticed something on their neck kaya napahawak na rin ako sa leeg ko. Napahinto ako nang may nakapa akong pabilog sa leeg ko. Napabaling din ako ng tingin sa kaliwang braso ko nang makita ang bracelet na may numero ro'n na parang coordinates pero puro zero pa lahat.

What's this? What are these?

Napasinghap ako nang may biglang humablot sa braso ko at sapilitang pinababa ng operating table. Those humanoid assisstants dragged us out of the room. I heard Caes yelled at the humanoid who was holding her, saying her arms hurt from their grip.

Ngayon ko lang din napansin na nag-iba na ang suot namin. It looked like an overall prison uniform pero kulay puti at may code namin sa bandang kanan ng dibdib.

Tahimik lang kaming naglalakad palabas ng laboratory. Binitawan lang nila kami noong nasa tapat na kami ng isang pinto na malapit sa kung saan kami no'n unang pumasok.

“Wait here. You'll be sent to the capsule soon,” sabi ng isang humanoid bago sila umalis.

Napasunod na lang ako ng tingin sa kanila nang lumakad sila paalis. I was about to look at my friends when I saw Ave walking from a far, kasama niya ulit 'yong babaeng nakita kong kasama niya no'ng una kaming nakapasok dito sa ship.

“Aveyron!” I shouted, causing her to jolt and stop to look at me.

Mabilis akong tumakbo papalapit sa kaniya. Her brows furrowed in annoyance when I grabbed her shoulders.
