What is composure?
Some say it is calmness of mind
The controlling of emotional state
Pure equanimity

To others it is having balance
A calm in the face of emotional distress
It is a lie

What really is composure?
It is the price we pay when we aren't ok
To hide the truths that are eating us inside
It is a lie

What really is composure?
It's what the world demands of us
Even when they tell us "it's ok not to be ok"
See, it's a lie

So here I tell you beautiful girl
Feel all your feelings
Sacrifice when necessary
But don't give in to their demands
If it means lying to yourself about the truth
That the thoughts inside your head are scary
But you'll get through this all
