"Sabi ko naman kasi wag ka na pumunta ang kulit mo" Sabi ko habang iniiwasan ang tingin niya.

"I wanted to see you" Aniya habang nilalapag sa lamesa ang soup, i looked for a second before turning back at him.

"Okay nakita mo na ako alis ka na" I said, jokingly. Jake tilts his head to the side

joke lang kasi ano ba

"Wanna go somewhere?" Tanong niya, i finally looked at him and furrowed my brows.

Akala ko ba kakainin natin 'yung soup?

"Hapon na" Sabi ko habang tinitignan ang oras sa suot kong relo, Jake did the same before nodding. "And lalamig yung soup"

"Yeah, we'll be quick. The soup can wait" Sabi niya, Nagbuntong hininga ako bago kunin ang sapatos ko. "Mabilis lang ah"

"Yes ma'am" He said with a smile, I looked away from him and tied my shoes.

Saan niya kaya ako dadalhin?

"What do you think?" He asked, waving his arms around as the cold evening air hits him.

"Malamig" Sagot ko habang tumitingin sa paligid, It was the rooftop of their dorm.

Pretty.

"It's beautiful, right?" Tanong niya habang naka sandal sa railings, mataas ang building ng dorm nila kaya kitang kita ang city mula rito sa taas.

"Yeah, pero malamig" Sagot ko ulit, had i known that it would be this cold, sana nagdala ako ng malaking kumot.

"Parang ikaw" He said, agad akong tumingin sakaniya habang naka-kunot ang noo. "Just kidding"  Agad niyang bawi, wala akong sinabi at inakap nalang ang sarili ko.

The wind kept on blowing, there were no stars in the sky, probably because it will start raining soon.

Kaninong freezer ba ang naka bukas?

"here.." he said while putting his jacket over my shoulder.

"You'll get cold" Sabi ko, Jake smiled before shaking his head. "Nah I'm good" Sabi niya, I gave him a quick glance before pulling the jacket closer to me, he smiled at me before leaning his head back to look at the evening sky.

"Jake" Tawag ko habang naka tingin parin sa view, "Yeah?"

"Hand" Inilabas ko ang kamay ko at hinintay na hawakan niya ito, i could see his confused expression but he gave me his hand either way, ipinikit ko ang mata ko at pinakiramdaman ang kamay niya. "To warm you up"

Mahina kong sabi, kahit obvious naman na hindi lang 'yon ang dahilan.

"but your hands are cold" He complained, wala akong sinabi. 

"About yesterday-" "What about it"

He cleared his throat, Kinakabahan ako sa sasabihin niya.

Ano kaya?

"It's-" I stopped him. "Ano" I felt his thumb rub circles on the back of my hand.

"Yesterday what i said-" "Ano nga"

He stopped for a moment, licking his lips before looking at our intertwined hands then back to my face.

"Jake, do you like me?" Hindi ko alam kung bakit ko tinanong, maybe i was getting impatient, he was taking too long.

Nagulat siya sa tanong ko, napakunot sya ng noo "What? no of course not! i mea-"

oh. okay

"Ano yung gusto mong sabihin kanina?" Tanong ko, wow i feel awful. What did i expect? I knew from the start this would happen. But i thought it will be different, akala ko iba ngayon.

I read him wrong after all.

Ganon parin pala, mixed signals? one step forward and three steps back?

"Ah, that. Wala nevermind" He said, i turned my head to the side.

I thought he liked me.

He didn't talk after that, the sound of the busy streets and the blowing wind were the only things i could hear.

"It's cold here jake, I'm going home" Sabi ko, letting go of his hand.

I sighed in disappointment, I could still feel the warmth his hand left.

"Ihahatid na ki-" "Jake it's late, tsaka may dadaanan pa ako. I'll just text jay" Sabi ko, hindi ko na hinintay na magsalita pa siya dahil bumaba na ako.

I didn't expect to cry over him like this.
