Analise's POV

"Did you find any way how to destroy the staff?" Queen Elena asked me as we walked towards the castle after a training session with the witches.

After discussing with Alexander and also my grandmother for like a hundred times over the past week, I finally got enough courage to tell them about my werewolf abilities. It went smoothly, similar to how it was with the Demons.

They were all more than happy and supportive to help me train and the witches were also pleased to have me training them. In turn, I was grateful for their help regarding my elemental magic. Over the past days, I have mastered the four elements.

After a lot of failures, burning forests, small earthquakes, tornados and unexpected rise in water levels, I managed to learn and understand how to make them work in my favour.

"I don't know yet. I am not sure my magic will be strong enough to break it." I said truthfully, slightly disappointed in myself.

"We will surely find something Princess." I smiled politely at her reassuring words. We passed by the guards in the hallways, moving towards the meeting room where the two guards opened the door for us.

As soon as I entered the room, I could feel the tension prevailing. Everybody present in the room looked deep in thoughts as they all looked down. I frowned at the sight.

I walked to my seat, next to Alexander who was already sitting in his seat. He stood up, helping me with my chair like he always did before taking his seat. Not even a second after we had settled down, he took my hand in his.

It only increased my confusion coupled with nervousness since whenever he takes my hand, it is an affectionate gesture but his hold on my hand felt like he was scared. Like I would disappear any second and he did not want to let me go.

I looked up at him. "Are you alright?" I asked through our link, placing my free hand on our interlocked ones.

"Yes." He said but I could feel the slight nervousness through our bond.

"What happened Xander?" I questioned again.

"Wait till everyone is here and I will say to all of them at once."

"I don't want to know that. What happened to you? Are you alright?"

He gives me a soft smile that fails to reassure me as he squeezes my hand lightly. "I am fine. Don't worry."

I was about to say something when the door opened and one by one, all of the remaining leaders entered the room, all looking confused as they took their seats.

"The vampires have declared war on us. They called us out for a fight next week at the clearing near the werewolf kingdom." King Tarsal informed and I felt my heart sink. I was waiting for the war but I did not know they would inform us about it.

If they decided when and where to attack, they must be really prepared for it. Otherwise, they would have used the element of surprise to try to take us down.

"The werewolves, the griffins and the giants are known to be on their side. They will be fighting against us. We have to be ready. There is no room for any mistake here."

A chorus of 'yes' was heard in the room, everybody determined to put an end to this once and for all.

"We all have to keep training and give our best. This is very important for all of our kingdom. If we lose, it could mean the end for everyone like us. We don't know to what extent they are willing to go." Alexander said in a serious voice that carries through the room, leaving no room for discussion.
