Epilogue

ChocoMel is everything

Last night after talking on the phone with mom. She said there was some good news for my birthday. I can't guess what the good news that my mother told me is. Even though I tried to trick my mom to tell me several times, but in the end, it didn't work. I can only wait to hear it from my mom's mouth.

"Brick is back?" He didn't go down to drink with them last night. The next morning, I woke up late again. In the end, I had to order room service to eat instead.

"They are all gone, now it's just me and you."

"Ai Jai too?" At first, I heard that he would stay another night with P'Tou.

"Yes, I see that they will continue to travel to other places." Actually, I would like to go elsewhere as well, but I probably can't because I have already booked a plane ticket back to Bangkok. "I won't stay any longer."

"I'm worried about the trio."

"It's nothing. Grandpa and Grandma are still there."

"No, I already booked the tickets."

"Mel, can't you stay a few more days...?" He made me weak. His pleading face made me unable to go. "Can't you stay? Don't just let me go. You know my whole heart is with you now..."

"Enough?" I pinched the cheek of the man who was trying to use his lips to snuggle into my mouth.

"I want to hear the word love instead of goodbye. The rain clouds in the sky probably know better. Let me be close to you tonight." Choco didn't stop continued to sing with a hopeful expression until my phone rang, that's why the person in front of me stopped and pursed his lips a little. I laughed lightly before rubbing his head.

Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

The phone continued to ring and when I saw who was calling, I immediately answered the call.

(Nong Mel)

"Yes, Grandma, it's Mel."

(It's a big deal, baby)

"Is something wrong?"

(Chel and the two little bastards were poisoned and Grandma's house was hit too. This bar has been hit. I'm at the veterinary clinic right now. symptoms are still worrisome)

What Grandma said still made me stunned to the point that I couldn't do anything.

(We're sorry, Little Mel.) But Grandma's voice has brought me back in time.

"It's okay ya. It's not grandma's fault at all." Both Grandma and Grandma must have felt sorry for what had happened. They must have thought that it was because he had caused Chel and the two oranges to be poisoned like this. I don't want Grandma and Grandma to feel guilty because their dog and cat being poisoned is already sad enough. "If there is a flight, I will return today, Grandma. Thank you very much."

(If so, grandma put it down, son. Little Mel, don't think too much.)

"Yes Grandma, thank you again." During the conversation with Grandma, I tried my best not to let my voice tremble even though some feeling was already clinging and sticking to my throat.

"Mel..."

"..." I don't know how the three bastards are doing.

"Mel"

"..." I don't know if it will hurt a lot or not.

"Mel!"

"So." I turned to look at the person who was holding me.

"Why are you crying?" I didn't even know when the tears had flowed out.

"Choco."

"I'm here."

"The..."

"Mel, what's going on?"

"Huh... The three bastards were poisoned. I don't know how they are now..." After release, I couldn't stop myself. The tears that I had been trying to hold back fell down, showing no signs of stopping at this moment.

I didn't say anything out loud, sobbing it drowned out all the noise. Choco pulled me into a tight hug, saying to my ear that the three of them would be alright.

"Hug... I'm going to come back today. I don't know if I can get a ticket or not."

"Wait tomorrow? I already booked tickets."

"No... I... will return today. Can you get me a ticket... Choco... find it for me." I raised my hand and wiped my tears and looked up at Choco. Both say begging and twitch the shirt in front of me to help me find a ticket to go back to Bangkok within the day. "Choco..."

"Um, I understand." Choco sighed before lightly stroking my head. "Now, let's go back together."

"It's okay... I can go alone. You just need to get your tickets."

"Mel... those three bastards are also my children. Therefore, you cannot prevent me from going to them."

"But..." I was about to protest that he had just returned home a few days ago but I was stopped by Choco and spoke first.

"Nothing. I'll go get a ticket for you. As for you, just put your clothes on." Choco finished speaking, getting up and talking on the phone with someone who thought it might be his father's assistant.

I took a deep breath and got up to put my clothes in the bag. Even though I thought I would be able to collect everything quickly, but I couldn't do what I wanted to. Because in my head right now I hardly concentrate on anything. This only distracted me about the three stingers. Afraid of what can happen my hands trembled until I finally had to sit still to calm myself down.

"I got a ticket"

"Ugh..." then turned to see Choco's face again. Tears will flow once more. The scorching heat moulded my eyelids until I had to close my eyes to hold myself back from the sorrow.

"You go sit on the bed. I'll do it for you." The warmth of his hot lips pressing a kiss to my forehead. I feel wafting up a bit.

"Thank you..."

"Nevermind."

"So what time do we get tickets?" I sat up on the bed and asked the guy who was packing my clothes.

"Three in the afternoon, as soon as possible."

"Oh, still good."

"You can sleep first. It's almost time for me to wake up." I nodded, doing as Choco said. But when I was alone with myself, the tears flowed again. I didn't want Choco to worry, so I pulled the blanket up and covered my face. Realizing it again, I cried until I fell asleep since I don't know when.

In a dream, I saw three bastards die in front of me. Saw Choco when he walked away from me in third grade, saw Hia Chip leave the house to live with his girlfriend. Saw Mom and Dad wave goodbye and leave me alone.

And the most painful thing is that I'm lonely in a big house and no one is with me.

No one... wants to be with me.

Everyone left me.

Even Chel, with whom I had been friends all along, left me.

"Mel."

"Ugh."

"It's almost time. Wake up and wash your face." I sat up and took the towel from Choco's hand.

"Crying again..."

"Don't be stubborn... heavy. I don't... don't want to cry," I said, raising my hand and wiping my own tears casually. As for the person who scolded me just now, he pulled out my hands before using both of his hands to support my face. He used his finger to gently spread the tears with the tips of his fingers. As for me, when I saw him doing that, the more I cried. "Tell me not to cry and watch what you do."

"Okay, if you want to cry, cry out loud. Promise not to be rude, no matter what." I sobbed as Choco pulled me into another hug. He didn't say anything, just hugged and patted my head. The warmth that passed through it caused many things to come crashing down, causing me to feel uncomfortable as if someone was close to drowning.

"Mel..."

"There are people who leave me, Choco... everyone just leaves me... heh." Dreams and reality are mixed together, causing the strength that used to be a protective shield to almost instantly be shattered. Being left alone used to be immune to me. But now my immunity is slowly collapsing.

"Mel..."

"I..."

"I'm here... I didn't leave you."

"Discard... everyone has left me, Dad and Mom, Chip and you... Chel is still going to leave me now. Huh, so bad. My life is bad. No one wants to be with someone like me. Why, I'm disgusting, huh? Why?"

"Mel..."

"..."

"Listen to me." Choco supported my face to look at him. The veil of tears was wiped over and over again, but it didn't seem to stop flowing.

"..." I nodded.

"It's good to remember. Because if you don't remember, I'll repeat it over and over again to let you know that someone like me can never break a promise. No matter what happens, I will never let go of your hand."

Choco's strong words reinforced the promise from the person in front of me that there was no wrong word. A warm embrace brought me into a hug again. I absorbed the good feelings from him before slowly adjusting my mood back to normal. After feeling better, I slowly pushed myself out of his embrace.

"Better?"

"Okay." I nodded and walked into the bathroom. The image reflected through the mirror shows the very bad condition of my hair, red and swollen eyes caused by heavy crying. What I saw was not good for me and the people around me especially with Choco that has to worry and trouble about me like this.

"Have you finished packing all your things?"

"Yes, but you, are you okay?" A thick hand reached and stroked my cheek.

"Okay." I nodded and put my hand over Choco's hand before lightly patting it back to signal that I was fine. After this, just go and see what the three stingers will be like. "Did Grandma and Grandpa call?"

"Call."

"How are they?"

"Chel is ok. The two oranges still have to be watched for symptoms." Although in reality, I felt the most love for Chel of the three cats. But the two oranges, I feel equally loved and worried about. "Both of them must be better."

"Um, did you ask about the cat and the dog in the house? How are their symptoms?"

"I feel like I'm going to die. All the others are getting better." Hearing this made me feel worse. I don't know how much grandma and grandpa will be sad. "But Grandma told me that the one who died was very old. When the drug is administered to the body, it cannot be removed. Grandpa and Grandma have made up their minds. As for the two oranges, they're still young. I believe they will get through it."

"I can only hope so." I hate losing. I hate sudden farewells. I used to be able to make up my mind when the first cat died. But this time if it happens again I would just let it go and let it go the way it should be.

We arrived in Bangkok around 5 PM. By the time we left the airport, it was almost six o'clock. The animal clinic that Grandpa and Grandma took the cats to the doctor is a clinic near our village.

I came to the clinic alone. As for Choco, he went back to the house to collect his stuff and took the car out to pick me up.

"Nong Mel", when I arrived, I met grandfather and grandmother. They were loading their own cats and dogs cages into the car.

"Nan, are you back?"

"Yes, it's all ok. Only two Mel's left. Chel is now better but maybe a little dizzy. Will Mel take it back? I will tell the officer for you."

"Yes, Nan, you can take it back."

"Come on, I'll take you inside to pick up Chel."

"Thank you very much. I would like to thank grandfather and grandmother. I don't know how you are." He said as he followed Nan into another room.

"Now the two of you are fine. There may feel some regrets. But not much."

"Good, Nan."

"Mel, you don't have to think too much. I believe the two little bastards will get better too." I nodded and walked over to the staff. Made a story to remove Chel from the clinic and went to ask how the two oranges were doing. The doctor said that the symptoms were still intact and had to wait to see what would happen tomorrow.

If they can make it through the night, their symptoms will probably improve but the doctor didn't forget to tell me to make up my mind in advance. Because the two oranges are still very small the symptoms are therefore more worrisome than others.

"How did Mel returned? Will you come back with me?"

"It's okay, Nan. I can go back by myself."

"Sure."

"Yes sir, thank you very much." Nan smiled again before walking out of the clinic. As for me, I sat down in a nearby seat. In his embrace, there was Chel, who was still grimacing.

"Mean face," I said, grabbing Chel's face with both hands. Before using my thumb to gently stroke along the oily hairline. Chel tilted its head to my hand and moved forward into my lap. "Don't eat anything like this again, Chel. You know I can't live without you."

Meow

The crying sounded like he was telling me he wouldn't do this again.

"How are you?" After sitting with Chel for a while. The owner of the voice just walked in and sat down next to me.

"Chel has returned home. As for the two oranges, we'll wait and see what's going on tonight."

"Probably okay."

"Hmm," thought that if They could get through the night, everything would be fine, as Choco said.

"Shall we go back? To get something to eat."

"I'm not hungry yet." Actually, I still wanted to stay and listen to the two oranges news first but I know that it's useless to stay.

"Let's eat. You ate a little this morning." I looked at the person who had been taking care of me since morning until now. If I didn't eat anything, he would probably be the same.

"Um, okay, let's go." I got up and walked with Choco. Today, the atmosphere between us seemed hazy because of the sadness that came from me. Many times I tried to bring my emotions back to normal but because the sadness took up so much space in my heart, I couldn't bring out all of my emotions.

"Would you like to eat something in particular?"

"No."

"Then let's stir-fried celery with clear soup."

"Okay, I can eat it all." I let out a smile before reaching for the person walking nearby. A gentle squeeze told him how grateful I was that he was still with me in the days when I was stupid and weak. "Thank you."

"Nevermind."

After coming home neither of us was talking about the two oranges again. Just help each other cook and make the atmosphere around us better. After finishing the meal, Choco sent me to take a shower, although at first, I was going to help him wash the dishes.

"You don't have to help. Just go take a shower."

"No, I will help."

"Mel, don't be stubborn, can you go take a shower?" I hate it when he looks fierce at me. "Go away."

"Okay, let's go." In the end, someone like me can do anything but do as he is ordered.

After taking a shower, I went to sleep and play games on my mobile phone and wait for someone else who hasn't come up yet. Until an hour later, the person I was waiting for opened the door and entered the room.

"Oh, why haven't you slept yet?"

"Waiting for you."

"Why wait, go to sleep."

"Well, I'm not worried."

"Don't be sleepy, go to sleep." Choco came to kiss my mouth and went to take a shower. Waited no more than twenty minutes, he came out with a towel wrapped around his waist. I saw the puppet and was terrified. Actually, I would like to have six-packs on my abs, but because I don't like exercising, I only see a light belly on my abs instead.

"Tomorrow the clinic opens at nine o'clock. Don't forget to wake me up, Choco." Because since the semester break, I wake up very late. It's almost eleven o'clock until noon.

"Okay, I'll wake you up," said Choco, putting on some clothes. "I'll turn off the lights."

"Yeah." He turned off the light as I turned to put my phone on the bedside table. The hug from the back made me feel warm and safe every time. His embrace had cut the anxiety in my head by more than half but even then, I still couldn't sleep well.

"Can't sleep?" Maybe it was because of the movement that made the person who was hugging me feel.

"Ugh."

"Thinking too much about the two oranges?"

"Yes." I honestly admit that I was still thinking about the two cats at the clinic.

"They will be fine."

"..." I didn't answer because I didn't want to expect it.

"Believe me."

"Are you a doctor to tell me to believe?"

"Don't you know me? Choco, mental touch." I widened my mouth and moved my face to nuzzle the person who was hugging me. Choco gently stroked my back as if lulling me to sleep. But until I survived, I still couldn't sleep.

So there was only one option left to make me tired and exhausted until I fell asleep...

"Where are you going?" Choco asked me because he saw that I sat up. But it was again amazed that I suddenly moved up to straddle him instead. "What the hell Mel?"

"Let's do it." It's not often that I'm the one who invites Choco to do the same thing first.

"Really?"

"Oh, I want to." I bent down and spoke to Choco before pressing a kiss and slipping my tongue into his mouth. The sweetness it gave was transformed into a spicy one after the person in front of me started responding to the taste. Choco repositioned me to lie down on the bed instead of him. He began to run his lips along my sweaty body.

"Ah..." Our moans mixed with the rhythm of our hips entering and exiting. The sheets were crumpled together as my feeling grew higher and higher, "Choco".

"Yes." A moan of his name alternates with intermittent stuttering breaths. In the end, both my and Choco's desires gradually reached their peak before releasing something from our bodies.

His warm lips pressed a kiss to my forehead to remind me that he was always there.

"Sweet dreams, boyfriend."

"Ugh."

"I love my boyfriend" I want to answer it back as well that I love him too. But because of the tiredness from the activity that has just happened, my eye muscles are weak and too tired to speak in response.

Bang!! Bang!!

The pounding or hammering of something woke me up from my slumber. When I opened my eyes, I turned to pick up my phone to look at the time. Which now the clock says it's over nine o'clock for almost three hours. Choco won't wake me up or maybe he will try but I won't wake up. In the end, he could only hurriedly shake off his laziness before going into the shower. The sound of hammering or beating something still didn't stop. I'm not sure what Choco did this morning. Until I walked downstairs, what surprised me was not only Choco assembling the tiny cat house but the two other people standing there watching.

"Dad! Mum!" I don't know how long I haven't seen Mom and Dad. every time they come back a tight hug will always be passed on to me, "I miss you."

I went to hug my dad before absorbing the feeling of missing him until he disappeared and then walked to hug my mom who stood not far from us. Keep the good vibes full so that one day you can bring it back on the day Dad and Mom walk out of the house to go to work again.

"I miss you too. How was at Nong Shock's house, wasn't it fun?"

"Had fun, Choco parents are still as cute as ever," I answered truthfully.

"Mom is cuter."

"Huh?" After dragging a long voice, I snuggled into Mom's embrace again. After I hugged and kissed my mom until I was satisfied, then I turned to look at my father and Choco who were building a small house.

"Didn't wake me up", besides cursing, he also slapped the man sitting on the head with a nail.

"Wake up, but I didn't wake up by myself. If you don't believe me, ask them." I turned to my mom who was standing next to me.

"So how are the two oranges? Are you going to get them or not?"

"Greetings."

"What kind of greeting are you going to tell me?"

"Nong Mel, I can't speak because of my child." My mother made a sound so fierce that I had to turn to hug him to beg.

"Excuse me," I replied softly and turned to face the man who was smiling at me. "What a shock. How are the two oranges?"

"Okay, it's up, sir. Probably playing with Chel in the house right now." I nodded in understanding before running into the house to look at the two oranges.

Meow-meow

When they saw me, they ran straight to snuggle almost immediately. I moved to meditate and opened my arms to the two bastards that jumped up to me.

"It's really healed." In addition to jumping already. It's also both licking and begging. "Next time, don't eat anything strange again. You know, I almost went crazy."

I told the three of them and sat with them for a while. My mom called me out to eat.

"Actually, today Dad and Mom have some good news to tell to Mel. Do you remember yesterday when Mom told you?" said Mom as we were eating.

"Remember, what good news? It's not that Mel is going to have a younger brother. right?" I said teasing until Choco was still smiling.

"Damn it, how can you be this old?"

"But really, Dad said it was interesting. Would you like to try it? It doesn't hurt anything." Dad turned to tease my mom who was sitting nearby. I smiled uncontrollably.

I really like these moments. The moments I can say are the happiest which these things are not about money or outside the body at all but it was pure happiness born of love and warmth within the family.

"Stop teasing and tell me what the good news are."

"Dad got a promotion," Mom said in a voice of joy that couldn't be shut.

"Really? I'm happy, Dad. Like this, will my father's salary increase also increase my allowance?"

"Let's have a dream, son." Besides speaking in a mocking tone, the look on his face showed that there would be no way to increase my allowance.

"Oh, this is my child."

"Well, son, use as much as you can." I pursed my lips a bit, but there was no drama.

"Actually, the good news isn't just this, baby."

"Anything else?" I asked, raising an eyebrow. The two people who turned around smiled at each other before turning to smile at me. "What does that smile mean?"

"Dad and Mom will return to Thailand permanently. As for Mom, she will quit her job and come back to take care of the house, take care of Chel, the two oranges and take care of Mel. There may be some small online sales, but not a lot. How about this news, is this good news, son... Mel?"

"Huh... are you telling the truth?" Tears rolled down my lap after hearing what she had just said. "Didn't fool Mail to be happy for fun, right... heh heh."

"It's true Mel, I'm telling the truth." What I heard a few seconds ago was the best news in my life because what I've always dreamed of is to be together in this big, lonely house.

"Huh... Huh." The sobbing sound was still loud, along with the soft laughter from the people in the house. The warmth of Mom and Dad's embrace passed over to me. Choco who was sitting next to me gave me a wide smile. I know how happy he is with my happiness this time.

"Children around here are so timid, Choco," mom said, scooping up a cup of sweet egg bun loi, sharing one cup for me and Choco, including Dad.

"No, I'm not crying." I stopped crying for a moment but realized that my eyes were still red.

"Huh, I think he's shocked, you agree with me, right?" Ma turned to ask the opinion of the person sitting next to me.

"Yes, Ma, I agree."

"Choco!"

"Haha!" Another wave of laughter rang out. Happiness was added to my mind again.

"Oh really, I forgot to say hi." My mom suddenly said as I was shovelling the lotus flower into my mouth. Choco raised an eyebrow in question. Dad seems to know what Mom is saying because he twitched a smile at the corner of his mouth before pretending he wasn't paying attention to look at the television on the other side. "A beautiful pair of earrings."

"Mom!" Choco and I don't know what to deny. But the way Mom said it meant that she knew as much as Choco's father and mother knew. Even though the two of you didn't speak directly, I knew that they accepted our love.

Choco's thick hand reached out and grabbed my hand that was on my lap. The love and warmth that flows through me make me realize that he's just as happy as I am.

A love that does not separate men and women, a love born of friendship and the love that comes from feeling it passes through both of our hearts.

I was so happy that I couldn't describe it all in words. Because today things around me are filled with true happiness.

Whether it's good news that Dad and Mom will be back at home permanently or the good news from the two oranges that have healed and finally, the good news from being accepted for my love with Choco. Everything was so blissful that I almost wanted to cry.

'I love you, Mel'

Choco moved his mouth to speak without a sound when Mom and Dad didn't notice. I smiled and moved my mouth to say the same words.

'I love you too.'
