I stood over my dead brother's body. His eyes still frozen with fear and shock. Tears streamed down my face as I remember the times of him as a child. "Forgive me brother. You left me no choice." I whimpered as all anger left me and I was left with guilt and sorrow. I heard screams come from the city as the great beasts with tusks charged for it. Just then a great white wolf stood in front of me. He was twice as big as the others wolves and had silver eyes instead of blue. I suspected he was the leader. He bowed down low and motioned for me to hop on his back. I nodded and climbed on and he started to run for the city. Just then one of the beats collapsed and fell on the other creating a domino effect. The wolf slowed to a stop and watched in disbelief as I did. Then something caught my eye and a grin stretched across my face. I saw a flash of blonde hair as an elf jumped from beast to beast, shooting arrows into their heads and the riders on them. "Legolas". I whispered with my grin stretched further. He killed all the beasts single handily and the archers on the deference wall cheered. He jumped off the last killed beast and ran towards me. I hoped off the wolf and sprinted to him. I so desperately wanted to be in his arms and forced myself to run further. He was only a inch away when I jumped into his arms. He engulfed me and I squeezed him in the tightest hug I could manage. "Your alive!" He cheered and he kissed my cheek and forehead. I giggled and nodded. I stared into his eyes and my hope began to rise again. "It is over. The rest have retreated." He cheered. I beamed and cupped his cheek. Surprising Legolas was untouched. He had no cuts or bruises. He chuckled and pushed a strain of my hair behind my ear. He leaned in for a kiss when we were interrupted by a rider. We both jumped as he came near collapsed on his horse. "They need you in the great hall now!" The rider said quickly and then rode back to the city. I gave Legolas I worried look and hopped back onto the wolf. Legolas hopped on behind me and we sprinted after the rider. We followed him into the city which was only slightly damaged around the outer walls. "They only breached the east wall but Alradiain held them back." Legolas said sadly. I slightly turned me head to see his face. "Is he ok?" I asked. Legolas went silent and still as a statue. I knew by this that he was gone. My heart dropped and more guilt built up in me. "I was so harsh to him. I never got to say thankyou and sorry." I cried. He was after all still my husband and at one point in my life I did love him. Legolas wrapped his arms around me tighter and gently spoke, "he died a hero Atarah." I nodded but cried harder. The rider took us the great hall where the injured seem to be. We walked through the doors and saw that it was lined with beds filled with injured soldiers and citizens. Everyone was circled around a huge bed at the end of the hall. My sister was in the concert crying as the captain of the guard, Claudia comfort her. I already knew before I reached the bed who was in it. Everyone saw me coming and stepped away so I could sit next to the bed. Legolas stood behind me and place his hands on my shoulders. My father, the king, laid dying in the bed. He opened his eyes and saw me. He struggled to grin and I took his hand. "My dearest daughter, I want you to know that I love you so very much and I am proud of you today." I placed his hand on cheek and tried to hold back the tears. "You are the next heir to the thrown and you will be the queen this Kingdom has been waiting for." I nodded and he sighed. "I shall be with you mother now. Remember we will be watching over you. The voices in your head will return when danger is near. You will never be alone." I nodded again fearing if I were to talk only sobs will come. "Legolas my dear son," everyone gasped as this and Legolas slowly stepped forward from behind me. "I am sorry for trying to separate what my wife knew would come to pass. I should have let you two grow in grace together forgive me." Legolas eyes were filled with sorrow. "There is nothing to forgive. My father." Legolas replied. A tear fell from my cheek. "You have my blessing Legolas, I know you have your own kingdom to run.." Legolas interrupted him. "I will stay here and watched over your lands, I will make it work." He then looked up at me and tears fell down my cheeks but these were happy and filled with joy. "I shall go in peace...." My father slowly said but did not finished. I stared down at my father, waiting for him to finished but he never did. "Father?" I cried out I dropped his hand and threw my arms over him. "Please don't leave me." I whispered over and over again as I laid there crying over my father. Legolas told everyone to leave and had a curtain set up so that I could have time to grieve. My sister came and hugged me from behind and there we stayed for hours. We were the only two left.
