The Seriously Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy

Prologue

                  The underworld was the one place that The Grim Reaper could truly relax and rest, and while not exactly homely looking, had a warm feeling to it that no mortal being would ever be able to recreate. It was dark in his domain, the only light given to his personal chambers was by the torches on the stone walls. The space was open, a throne like chair made of bones sat in the middle of the room. Old tomes put into the carved out book shelve in the very left corner and the messy desk next to it made the room look well used. On the opposite wall was an unusual looking fire place, with no bottom the fire seemed to seep from the very depths of the earth. The mantle made it look as if the souls trapped in it would pull you in.
       The Grim Reaper, simply know as Grim, walked into the room before slumping onto the throne of bones, he had just come back from dealing with one of the more stubborn souls and was just about ready to lose his temper. Sensing another presence enter the room, Grim glanced up with a scowl on his handsome but notably otherworldly face before it changed to a blank gaze, only his eyes gave off the curiosity he felt upon seeing the other being in his domain.

         "Hello Grim, it's been a while" The voice so soft some could have mistaken it for their imagination. Stepping out of the shadows was a woman of average height and looks, her brown skin becoming an unnatural golden color when the warm light reached it. That was the only sign of otherworldly nature the woman showed. Spreading out more on his throne Grim leaned his head on his hand to give her a once over as she did the same. The Grim Reapers appearance was a pleasant and unsuspecting one if you were to only gaze upon his face, however spread out like this his mostly human looks were disrupted by the white skeletal markings on his dark body. One could say that it was a tattoo if the marks didn't glow an unatural light, his beauty was another indication of his unnaturalness as no human could ever be so remarkable.

         "Well this is a nice surprise, to what do I owe the pleasure?" Grim questioned, a sluggish smirk pulling at the corner of his lips. Destiny rarely left her realm as of the last few centuries, Grim would have been upset at the intrusion if he was capable of feeling more than the small brush of emotions that seemed to grace him every once in a while. Companionship wasn't uncommon for the beings of old, when relationships ended between them it was no different then a dead leaf falling from a tree. Natural and expected. Though theirs had ended rather abrupt and unexpectedly, even for someone of their position, Destiny having closed herself off into her realm with no explanation. Grim was not so bothered if it meant a visit from one of the more pleasant beings he was acquainted with

         "About 7 years ago the universe fluctuated, it caused a panic among us." She stated while walking around the room, before coming to a stop in front of the desk. Running her finger over the cracks and crevices, Destiny smiled and took a seat on top of it. Looking back over to Grim she saw him watching her like a hawk, softness in his eyes that not many got to see.

         "What's your point? While not a regular occurrence , it happens ever millennia or so. Many knew that it was bound to happen." He murmured not understanding what she was trying to get at. Leaning back on her hands she sighed, tilting her head to each side as she thought of how to break the news. Lifting her head upright Destiny let out a hum while looking around the room.

        "Something needs to change or the universe will fall apart." She stated bluntly, not too bothered by how Grim would react to the news. Sitting up straight the God turned to look at her more closely.

        "What do you mean fall apart that doesn't just happen on its own." Grim stressed not liking where this conversation was going.

         "It does now, but luckily I know how to fix it." Destiny said, not a concerned tone in her voice to be heard. Brown eyes locked onto his Onyx and Grim suddenly knew that without a doubt, no matter what she asked of him, the future was about to be a whole lot more interesting.

         "I'll need you to do something though, you might not like it," She teased , breaking their eye contact. A tired look passed over Grim's face, before it was replaced with an indifferent one. When did Grim ever like doing one of his fellow Gods a favor.

         "Not to worry though, you have another 20 years before I'll need your help in this matter." Destiny purred, best not to  stress Grim out to much. After all he would be going through a lot in the foreseeable future.

         "What exactly do I have to do?" he questioned, eyes locking back on to each other. A mischievous glint entered her eyes before a wide smile split her face. A shiver went down The Reapers spine. It was never a good thing when Destiny got involved with the workings of the universe, but then again if it wasn't meant to be she wouldn't have been there to begin with.

         "You don't need to worry much, it'll be fun, and we deserve some fun don't we?" A cruel, almost manic look passed through her eyes. Standing up Grim walked over to the Goddess before leaning over her. Hands resting beside her thighs, pressing into the dark wood of his desk.

         "It's long overdue." He agreed lifting her chin up, and flashing a charming smile.

I'm going to be completely honest, I have no idea where I want this story to go and I might not even finish it. I decided that I was going to write this for fun and so that I can satisfy my want for a story like this to at least exist somewhere on the internet. I used to love watching The Grim Adventures of Billy and Mandy when I was younger and I still do, the only difference being that since I'm now older I like the more cynical and dark shows.
