“Uhh…Shit” Mikan cursed under her breath as she arrived at the grand entrance of U.A alone.

She woke up late and Aizawa had the audacity to leave her alone in the house, alone in the train and alone to walk to the huge school without his protection. She tried to call him by his phone and the hero’s answer was that it was her fault that she was such a slug. Like she didn’t make his coffee every morning and cooked his lunch every single day. The man said that it would serve as a training for Mikan to get used to being under the radar on her own.

And here she was, standing a few meters away from the entrance of the school because a swarm of media were flocking the gate like moths drawn to the flame. She had never experience such terrifying thing in her 6 months and counting stay in U.A. What could possibly had caught the feral flock of vultures for them to guard outside and attack at every student that passed through?

Mikan shivered at the thought of walking up to that direction. She knew mass media were a bad thing. A very bad thing considering her situation where she needed to hide and lay low. One picture of her could be posted on the internet and the ones that were hunting her could finally know her location.

She couldn’t afford that risk. Her stomach churned as the familiar sharp winged butterflies fluttered around inside, having fun twisting her bile and rise it up to her throat. Her mind filled with thoughts of her face circulating the social media and finally a blurb of memory that she forbade her brain to ever remind her broke free.

“Oh? What does a little like you doing here, doll?” A big burly man who was wearing a black and dark brown spandex suit with black boots said to her with a sickeningly sweet tone.

The man was towering. He was a giant, to Mikan at least, as she was only reaching his hips and the little girl had to crane her neck just to meet the gleaming eyes of the strong hero. 12-year-old Mikan cowered in fear at the man’s presence after she just witnessed something gruesome. Something that a child should have never seen. Because if they did, just like Mikan, she felt a piece of her innocence cracked painfully and black gooey liquid slowly seeped through it to stain the pure white glass.

Mikan choked on a wet sob as she shakily stepped back. Her throat felt tied, no air was passing through no matter how much she gasped for it. Her golden eyes travelled to the naked woman on the floor, her porcelain skin has patches of black and blue. She looked cold. She felt cold. She wasn’t breathing like she did before.

The man snarled, his straight teeth shined with the fluorescent above them. He turned the camera he was holding to Mikan to capture the horror on her face.

“Hey, doll, you want to play with me?”

Merde.” Mikan cursed and slapped herself to get rid of that nasty memory of hers.

Oh, how badly she wanted to bash her head to a boulder and hoped that she somehow acquire her childhood memories with her brother and biological parents and the memories she had with Alexander and Augustus became restricted and hazy instead. Or better yet, erased. How great it would be.

She calmed herself down for a few minutes with breathing exercises that Mrs. Fukuzawa taught her and when she was in control of herself again, she whipped her phone out and speed dial Aizawa’s number. The man’s phone rang for 4 times before he finally answered with a lazy ‘hello’.

“Mr. Aizawa,” She hissed, brows pulled tight together. ”You left me.”

Her tone was accusatory and she might have the urge to smack the man’s arm for what he did. Now she was stuck in this mess.

“Yes, I know that, brat. It was your fault for oversleeping.”

“You couldn’t have wait for me?” She sighed. “Nevermind that. I can’t enter the school.”
