There were some groans in the background that Maia ignored as she stared the Lockwood boy down. She could scoff. The demigoddess had spent four months with Lupa, the Roman Goddess of Wolves. An untriggered werewolf was nothing.

Tyler looked away and the school bell finally rang, signalling the end of the class.

She nodded, "Alright boys, off with yah."

"You," Maia jabbed a finger at a certain  blond, who froze like a deer muncher caught in headlights, "Stay."

Stefan had been having a good day, he'd successfully ignored Damon's asshole-ry, greeted Elena with a kiss, gotten an A on his English essay and met Beth Anne Jackson with a smile, who seemed a lot like Sally, sweet and kind, with a bit of Maia's stubborn sassiness.

Not being able to ignore her with her violent red hair, the Jackson girl had fit right in with Bonnie, Caroline and Elena. And he definitely could say that he was excited to meet the aunt who had raised her.

But then he had walked into the P.E. classroom... sat in his chair at his desk... and looked directly into a pair of unforgettable green eyes that had a look in them that would absolutely terrify him even as an emotionless Ripper.

Her little back and forth with Tyler had amused him and almost made him smile with nostalgia, remembering back when they were human. But then again...

He could hear her heart beating.

How?

How was that possible?

"You. Stay."

The vampire froze when he realized that Maia, someone who he had considered one of his greatest friends and had hoped to one day call his sister, but also someone who he had thought was long dead, now wanted a chat with him... alone.

"I know what you are, Mr Salvatore."

A look of shock crossed Stefan's face.

"And any friendship we had, is gone."

The blond dropped his gaze to his feet, actually surprised to feel disappointment and hurt pulse through his chest.

"However..."

Her now soft, quiet voice made the immortal teen glance up with hope.

"As I said to the other boys about respect, you want that back, what we had all those years ago, you gotta earn it okay?"

A small,  hopeful smile started to spread across Stefan's usually brooding face before it was stopped with a frown, "What about Beth Anne?"

"Betsy's a big girl. I trust her judgement. Now, shove off, Blondie, before I kick you up the ass."

Stefan chuckled airily at the familiar smirk of his childhood.

A smirk that belonged to her great grandfather.

"But,"

The vampire paused just as he was about to walk out of the classroom.

"You or that brother of your's, ever, and i mean ever, hurt her..."

He gulped at her dark tone, nodding erratically before shooting out the door, having gotten quite the scare.

Maia breathed in through her nose, a deep breath that she held whilst counting to ten then slowly let it out from her mouth. She shook out her ponytail and raked her fingers through her hair, scratching at her scalp, then tied her midnight coloured curls up into a messy bun.

Time to meet the cheerleaders.

The immortal Daughter of Poseidon hadn't been one to get nervous. Not since her first years of being aware of her divine heritage. But as of right now...

She took another file from the top drawer of her new teacher's desk,  This one, she had come up with by herself. With a wee bit of help from her niece. It was full of suggestions that she had planned to give to whomever the head cheerleader was, for ideas.

The oldest Jackson witch also knew that despite Beth Anne not wanting to be a cheerleader, Betsy would already know the material.

So without the younger Jackson witch knowing, Maia had made sure to have her in the class, knowing the girl was so much like herself that she'd be delighted to show up some bitchy, prissy cheerleaders.

"Alright, girls," Caroline looked over the bunch of teens, "I've gotten word from the principal that, despite coaching the football team, Coach Jackson wants to stick her nose into our business."

In the back of the small crowd, a certain redhead frowned, annoyed and offended for her beloved aunt by the words that her new friend had just said.

"That's not very nice."

The blonde's blue eyes widened and Beth Anne couldn't help but smirk as her aunt walked across the green field, having obviously been within hearing range without the Forbes girl knowing.

Caroline's mouth gaped, opening and shutting like a fish out of water.

"You are?"

"C, Caroline Forbes..." she stuttered, so very, very unlike herself.

Sitting beside her, Bonnie leant over to whisper in the younger Jackson's ear, "Uh oh."
