Darwin's Gambit <Darwin's game but not>

Strength

"Where are you gonna go now?" Anna said mocking Kai from afar.

Kai looked at Anna and then at the wall, "here goes nothing" he exclaimed as he ran straight at the wall, jumping at the last second so his feet were perpendicularly aligned with the wall. To Anna's surprise, instead of Kai falling off the wall, he was standing on it. Defying gravity itself. "HAHA I DID IT. COME GET ME ASSHOLE" Kai exclaimed triumphantly. Kai sprinted up the wall as fast as possible. While Anna just now recovering from the shock launched a barrage of bricks to try and destroy Kai. Kai had finally reached the roof of the 3 story building.

"You may have evaded me for this long but you've got nowhere to run, you lose YOU MONSTER!"

Kai turned around to face Anna and laughed, "I've lost? Look at yourself before you judge me."

"What'd you-" Anna was cut off, as she looked down at herself, she was horrified at what she saw, her clothes were covered in long straight blood stains. Who's could they have been? Surely not hers, she was winning this fight. She lifted up her shirt, exposing her waist. The shock and terror ran through her body, paralyzing her. She had long, thin cuts all over her body. As the shock started to wear off she looked up to see KAI! He had just leaped off the building, his one hand outstretched and the other holding his sunglasses, his eyes, they flowed a bright crimson colour.

•flashback to home•

He looked at his reflection in the mirror in his room, as to wonder what he had become, what this game had made him. As he looked he saw himself looking back, it was a peculiar sight. His eyes were glowing, they were red. Was this his sigil!? A feeling in his body,  it told him to look once again at his cards. As he did he realized, not all the cards were on the floor, some of them had embedded themselves into the wall. He stretched out his hand to grab them but to his surprise, they levitated and flew back into his hands. They were set neatly again. Hermès' Grip... OFCOURSE Hermès was the messenger of the gods yes but he was also the god of gambling,  his grip was over cards, Kai could control cards with his mind!

Alright. He thought, now he can make a plan...

•back at school, hybrid scene of past and present•
Kai's POV

Step 1: Get her talking,
-"I'm no coward A, unlike you."-
once she talks to me I can get under her skin, if I can do that well enough it'll lead right to-

Step 2: Bait her out,
I'm gonna have to bait her into revealing her sigil.
-"So A? Wanna share with the class what your spectacular sigil really is?"-
once I know what it is I can find a way around it.

Step 3: Evade, If I dodge run and stay away as long as possible I don't have to reveal my sigil early.
-Kai was jumping dodging and rolling through her attacks, all just barely missing him,-

Step 4: PISS HER OFF
- "THAT'S WHY YOU'RE HERE RIGHT NOW!"-
The angrier Anna is the less she thinks, letting me lead her straight into my trap, I'll lure her to the benches and then to the last 2 trees. I'll have booby trapped them, leaving my cards all throughout their branches, allowing me to get to,

Step 5: TURN HER INTO SASHIMI!!!
With enough speed and precision she won't even feel the cards slicing through her flesh. Just like those cuts that don't hurt until you see them. She'll be in utter shock,
-The shock and terror ran through her body, paralyzing her. She had long, thin cuts all over her body.-
Once she sees she's been shredded it'll leave her wide open for...

•back to present•
"STEP 6!" Kai shouted as he descended
"SATURNS RINGS" as he yelled his command, cards from all directions flew towards Anna, surrounding and stopping mere millimeters from her neck, forming a ring around it.

"Looks like you lose A." Kai said, triumphantly.

Anna's face was that of pure terror and confusion, with a tone to match. "What? How?"

"Oh it was simple really, *Kai recounts plan*"

"And what about the walls? How'd you run up the walls?"

"Well," kai said as he cocked his foot up, he thrusted his heel back shooting a card out the shoe and right into his hand. " I figured if I can make them fly, why can't they make me fly?"

Anna was at loss,  how was she bested by Kai of all people? "Just kill me already" she said, defeated.

"Kill you? Nah you aren't worth it, plus I think it's a lot cooler that you have to live with yourself knowing I beat you, and that you're alive, because of me. Me and my mercy."

<Winner: Kai> 

their phones pingged.
Kai dropped Anna, all the cards flying neatly back into a box in his pocket. "See you around Anna" Kai waved at her with his index and middle finger in a casual salute.

And with that Kai had won. Kai had found
His strength.

So that's the end of this chapter, it's much longer and I experimented with a bunch of different stuff, like the flashback and present past thing, but yo tell me if you liked it, I'm really enjoying writing this series. Also tell me what you think, of the story and of the length!
