[Book 8] Sofia The First: The Hockey Princess

Winter Day

It was another beautiful winter day at Royal Preparatory Academy.

At the ice rink, The ice dancing class and ice hockey class are sharing one ice rink, but it seems, it's not going to well as they planned...

At ice dancing class, Ms. Flora and the girls were doing ice dancing and Hugo and his best friend, Sofia were doing their routine on their recital back when they were in middle school, the girls were still amazed by their routine, especially Leona

As Sofia was skating she saw what she was heading for...

"Leona look out!" she shouted as she bumped into her friend and they both slide across the rink.

"Hey Sofia, Leona, this is our side of the rink" Derek said as Leona and Sofia got caught in the goal at ice hockey.

James saw what happened and instantly helped them out

"you guys okay?" James asked as he helped the two girls up

"we are now" Leona told him, "Thanks"

"sorry guys, again hehe" Sofia said

Hugo turned to Sofia and smiled, "but look on the bright side-if you both were a hockey puck, you would have scored" she joked

Sofia just smiled and Leona just rolled her eyes, just then Coach Henley went up to Ms. Flora

"Ms. Flora, I don't think this rink sharing wasn't such a good idea" he told her

"well, you're right" Ms. Flora replied, "dancers, lets head out to the other side" she called

The ice dancers just groaned as they all skated with Ms. Flora, Leona and Sofia waved at the boys as they followed the ice dancing class

But Leona stopped and looked back at ice hockey class, she looked at Derek who was skating across the ice with the puck and shot it right through the goal

She looked at James, she saw that he was having a hard time, James was making progress until he tripped on a rock and almost fell but luckily Leona caught him in time

"Leona? should you be with the ice dancing class?" he asked his friend

"I'll go in a minute, you guys are actually having fun playing hockey" she told him

"Yeah, even if you're not good at it, do you want to try?" James asked her

Leona was surprised, "no thanks, besides, I don't know any girls who plays ice hockey" she told him

Just then, Derek skated towards them and smirked, "that's because, ice hockey is too hard for girls, you probably just gonna slip and accidentally shoot the puck at someone" Derek told Leona

Leona just rolled her eyes, "not a chance" she told Derek

"then it will be easy for you if you try" James said

Leona thought about it for a moments and said, "okay fine, I'll try"

James turned to their coach, "coach Henley, do you have any extra pair of hockey skates?" James asked

"I have" Coach Henley replied as he took a pair of hockey skates and gave it to Leona

Leona sat at the side of the rink and she took off her scarf and her enchanted skates, and replaced them with hockey skates

James helped her up and gave her a hockey stick and placed a helmet on her, and also, he gave her a hockey puck

Then right after, Leona started to skate, "so what should I do? do I just shoot the puck to the goal?" she asked as she got the puck, but she's having trouble

"Try shooting it to the goal Leona!" James shouted

Derek looked at James, "James, she can't do that, she's just beginning" he told him

Zandar looked at what's happening and turned to Derek, "um Derek, look" he said as the boys saw that Leona was doing progress at it, the other boys tried to block her but she was fast and then she ended up shooting the puck to the goal

"score!" the boys cheered

"Woah, that was, amazing Leona" Derek said

"you should join the ice hockey class" James suggested

"yeah, besides, like they said, the more the merrier" Zandar added

"I don't know" Leona told them

"come on! you're gonna have so much fun here" Zandar said

Leona is not quite sure if she could join the hockey team, come to think of it, being the only girl in the class, she loves ice dancing, but she loves ice hockey more...

what will she choose?....
