Only One String Attached

Part 4

"Well it is too early for them to be strong enough for you to feel it. Give it a few weeks." Katsuki said, quietly, turning back to the road in front of them, but not moving to put the car back in drive.

Eijiro studied him for a second. Katsuki hasn't necessarily been completely closed off to him, but he's been very guarded and Eijiro can tell he's been telling him half truths. Like, his job. He said he's a project supervisor for a tech firm and although Eijiro doesn't know all that that entails, the paperwork and phone calls he's observed seems like there's more there than what he's told Eijiro, but he wasn't going to push. It wasn't his place, since this wasn't a real relationship, as he keeps having to remind himself. Even despite Katsuki holding him at arm's length, he can tell something is bugging him, but again it's not his place.

"Shouldn't we be heading home? You said there was some work thing, right?"

"Mmm." Katsuki hummed, but did nothing to act on that, seemingly lost in thought.

"Katsuki?" He kept his voice gentle, not wanting to startle the alpha. Katsuki turned to him, his eyes focusing on the inside of the car again. "You okay?"

"Yeah. Sorry, I was trying to figure out how we were gonna fix this issue at work." He dismissed with a clear lie. Eijiro hated that he couldn't call him on that and actually figure out what was going on, but he knew he would be shut down before he even tried. "Fuck, I do not want to have to deal with this, but of course none of the other idiots can deal with it." He lets his head fall back against the seat. Eijiro grabbed his slightly bigger hand in his, and squeezed it gently.

"Sorry." Eijiro apologized, not sure what he was apologizing for but was the only response he could think of. Katsuki turned his head to look at him, and smirked a little.

"It's not your fault, Red."

"I know, I just wish there was something I could do to help." Eijiro said, looking at him out of the corner of his eye. He saw Katsuki roll his eyes before leaning over to guide his chin to look him in the eye with his finger.

"You do plenty." Katsuki reassured him, before he pressed a kiss to Eijiro's lips, earning a whimper. His eyes flew open in response, surprised at the reaction. He honestly wasn't even sure where the sound came from or why he whimpered. Katsuki responded by deepening the kiss, gripping his chin and holding him there, and gently melding their lips together.

When Katsuki finally pulled away, he fixed Eijiro with a smirk. "Someone feeling needy today?" Eijiro hadn't realized he had been craving the alpha that desperately, but clearly he was. He just nodded his response, not counting on his voice to not betray how desperately he wanted Katsuki at this moment. Katsuki gave him a knowing look before leaning in and nuzzling against his scent patch covered gland.

"This thing is doing jack shit to cover your scent." He mumbled. "Not that I'm complaining, but even back at your friends' place your scent was strong." He grabbed a corner of the scent blocker that had started rolling in on itself with his teeth, as one hand settled on his hip, and the other cradled his face gently, before gingerly peeling it away from the skin.

"Katsuki?" Eijiro's voice hitched as the material pulled away and he felt Katsuki's breath on his sensitive scent gland. "Shouldn't we wait till we get home before we remove the blockers?" Katsuki didn't respond, just spit the scent blocker away, before moving back to suck gently on the gland, pulling jagged breaths from the omega. He tried to bring up the fact that they should just go home again, but as Katsuki's tongue massaged the sensitive skin, all his words died in his throat.

Katsuki continued to suck and massage at the gland, Eijiro's head started to loll back, until a rumbling came deep from within the alpha's chest. He pulled away after a second, his pupils blown and only adding to the ferocity and hunger that showed on his face.
