Only One String Attached

Part 2

A/N - So remember how this was marked as finished???? Well it's not anymore 👉👈😆😆😆 This part has actually been up for awhile on my Twitter and on AO3 and I totally spaced about putting it here. Anyway, I had a few requests to make this into an actual fic and I really liked the idea so I wanted to roll with it. This chapter is comfort fluff I wrote specifically for @Sneaky_Sharky on Twitter, so sorry for the change in pace but I hope you enjoy!!

Eijiro fidgeted with the hem of his shirt as he waited to be picked up by his friends for his appointment. The sun was high in the sky, and the omega had to squint against the harsh light, the starting of a headache building behind the center of his forehead. His mind raced as his anxiety only increased in the drawn out minutes of waiting.

It had been a month since Eijiro officially agreed to be Katsuki’s sugar baby, they hadn't landed on another official term for their dynamic yet, but it was somehow growing on the omega. True to his word, Katsuki spoiled him rotten. He insisted that Eijiro go down to part-time at work, so the omega didn’t strain himself. He’s only four months along, but the alpha insisted. Stating it would help him save energy for more strenuous activities. 

Honestly, the most exhausting part of the whole situation has been that he hasn’t told Denki and Mina. Making up excuses and trying to cover up smelling like an alpha has really taken a lot out of him. He doesn’t think that either one of them would necessarily react negatively, he just doesn’t know how to approach the situation. Katsuki also never specified if this was supposed to be kept quiet or not. Eijiro knew his friends were going to bury him in an avalanche of questions he was not ready to answer. 

His phone vibrated in his pocket, and he eagerly pulled it out to check on it. Anytime it buzzed now, his heartbeat would quicken in hopes that it was a certain alpha. Everytime, he had to kick himself because he knew this wasn’t real in the way his heart was interpreting it. He couldn’t let his emotions get too involved, which was far easier said than done with his pregnancy hormones raging through him and screaming anytime the alpha so much as looked at him.

Katsuki: You better be taking care of yourself today. And I know you’re probably stressing about this appointment, so knock that shit off.

Eijiro grinned widely at the screen, basking in the caring words. He was failing miserably at the no attachments thing, but stuff like this didn’t exactly help matters. 

Eijiro: I am, I promise, and I’ll do my best to not stress. Too much at least. 

Mina and Denki parked the car along the curb as he hit send, and Eijiro quickly went to climb into the backseat. He gratefully inhaled the omega and alpha’s scents as he settled in the car, the familiarity surrounding him like an all encompassing hug. The three of them had been friends since freshman year of high school, and have been close ever since. Honestly, Ei probably would be living with the two friends if he hadn’t moved in with his ex.

“Sorry, we’re late. Someone spent way too long drying their hair, and getting ready.” Mina threw a playful glare at Denki.

“I’m sorry, okay?! I just figured we were going to go somewhere after the appointment, like we always do, and I wanted to make sure I looked good.” Denki whined, pushing his head back against the headrest, before turning his attention to the backseat. “You ready for today, dude?”

“As ready as I’ll ever be.” Eijiro grinned, doing his best to keep the nerves at bay. Everything was probably fine, but anxiety built inside him as the seconds ticked by until he’d know for sure. “And sorry to disappoint, but I actually have plans tonight, so I won’t be able to hang out.”

“What?! You have plans that don’t involve us? Must be a date.” Mina grinned, wiggling her eyebrows in the mirror as she drove. Eijiro froze for a second, still not quite ready to have this conversation yet. He recovered quickly and rolled his eyes.
