June's POV

I stare at the skyline of the city, and instead of feeling excited, I feel fear. Scared of what we might be walking into. Scared that my parents may be gone forever. Scared that this might hurt worse than anything ever has before. I feel a hand squeeze my hand gently, and I see Jack giving me an encouraging smile. Then we all enter the city.

Jack's POV.

I'm still grasping June's hand as we all walk down the street. Bardle has a grim look on his face along with Quint and Dirk. Evie's expression is unreadable, and June looks nervous. And Biggun... I actually can't tell, he looks like he's thinking. This is kind of nerve-racking, and we're all on edge. Buildings are crumbling to the ground, cars are smashed and upturned, vines are covering everything, and the air has an almost burning smell to it. As we walk, I see almost NOTHING. Not really even any zombies, weirdly enough. It's like something wiped them all out, yet I can still hear zombies groaning.

Dirk's POV.

There's nothing here. No zombie dudes or anything! Something's definitely off, I can feel it. And I feel like we're being watched, almost. Nah, that would be silly, right? Yet I still can't shake the feeling of all this weirdness. No zombies, no monsters, the feeling that we're being stalked...

Quint's POV.

I feel scared. I try to look brave, but this is kinda hard. My parents were on a cruise when the apocalypse happened, what if they're... gone? There's also nothing here. Barely any zombies. You'd think that there would be lots of zombies in a city as big as New York, but no, nothing. Like something has picked them off, and it makes me wonder, what are we walking into? Something's going to happen, I'm sure of it, but I don't know if it'll be good...
