Fact #68 - RIP Jules Engel
The movie was dedicated in memory of Jules Engel (1909-2003). In September 2003 (during production), Jules Engel (Hillenburg's mentor when he studied experimental animation at the California Institute of the Arts) died. Hillenburg dedicated the film to him: "He truly was the most influential artistic person in my life. I consider him my 'Art Dad'."
