"You never told me she was this much of an asshole," Y/N called over to Nat as they allowed Yelena to make her way to her feet while they returned their gun to its holster.

Nat forced a laugh, "To be fair, she was actually a pretty sweet kid from what I remember."

Yelena's smirk that she'd given Y/N before standing faded quickly after hearing Nat's statement. She turned to walk toward her, "Interesting how the red room will really harden you, isn't it? Especially while your sister is out having a grand fucking time with the Avengers."

As her small smile dropped, Nat tried to respond, "Yelena, I tried-"

"Don't lie. You didn't try. Not once did you think to come back for me," She retorted as she sat her bag down and began shuffling through it, "But I never forgot you."

Y/N began to feel a sense of awkwardness wash over them. It was clear that there was a lot between the sisters that they'd never known about. Nat had been rather dry when talking about the situation. They figured there just wasn't much to the situation, but they could see now that there was actually far too much to talk about.

They cleared their throat, trying to draw the attention away from their obvious tension and back to the entire reason that they were in this situation to begin with, "The serum you sent Nat," Y/N started, "What did you want her to do with that? Why did you send it?"

Yelena slowly allowed her eyes to make their way up to meet Y/N's, a smirk growing on her face once again, "You're nosey. I like it."

Their face scrunched up in confusion as they looked over to Nat wondering what the hell was wrong with her little sister. Nat shrugged and mouthed I don't know.

"This serum breaks the Widows from their trance. It was given to me... after an incident. I had to make sure it was safe."

"So you mailed it," Nat said as she cocked her head, "You mailed it. How is that safe, Yelena?"

She rolled her eyes and looked over to her sister, "They knew it would be with me. They'd been tracking the woman who gave it to me and knew I had it. Meaning, I had to get rid of it. Sending it to you kept it safe. They had no idea where it was or who it could be with."

Y/N shrugged and nodded, "She's got a point."

Her eyes made their way back to Y/N before looking back at Nat, "I like this one," She stated with a smile, "Why're they with you?"

"Y/N is my best friend. I asked them to come along while I searched for you," Nat responded.

"And thank god she did. You might've killed her had I not been here," Y/N interjected irritatedly.

She shook her head as she looked back down into her bag, "I wouldn't have killed her, idiot. Just had to make sure everything was safe before letting my guard down."

Y/N could feel annoyance boiling. Nat had her moments with sarcasm and rudeness, but they were used to that and were able to dish it back with a shared laugh. Yelena's sarcasm just pushed them further and further toward being fully pissed off.

Just as they'd started to go off on her for that statement, Nat began, "You haven't answered why you sent it. Why do you need it and why is something chasing you for it?"

By now, she'd finish searching for whatever was in her back and threw it back over her shoulder. She held out a paper with coordinates on it and handed it to Nat, "I'll tell you both all about it later. Right now, we need to get out of here."

As soon as she'd finished her sentence, the three heard a window from one of the back rooms break open.

"Fuck," Yelena stated, "Get to the stairs just outside the window. We need to go, now."

Before they could even move, Widows came darting through the doors of the rooms and had even busted down the main door to the apartment. Nat and Y/N's eyes widened far as they quickly followed Yelena over to the stairs.

Bullet holes pierced the walls next to their heads as they ran. As they jumped out of the window and made their way down the stairs, bullets continued flying. They could hear them bouncing off the stairs as they jumped down each set while the Widows followed closely.

"Come on!" Y/N yelled as they motioned the sisters toward their car.

"I'll drive!" Yelena yelled out.

"I think the fuck not, get in the back!" They responded without even looking at her.

Clearly stubborn and unwilling to listen, Yelena jumped in the passenger seat and pushed Nat to the back. Before Y/N could yell again, she waved them off, "Just fucking go!"

Y/N threw the car in drive and whipped their way down the alley that they'd parked in just before going to search for the annoying woman now sitting in their passenger seat. As they made their way to the end of it, Yelena began directing them on where to go.

Neither Nat nor Y/N knew what was truly going on and didn't have time to question it. They listened and followed each turn that she'd told them to take. The Widows chasing them were relentless. Every turn Y/N took, they were right behind.

Yelena was clearly getting impatient with Y/N seeing as their reaction time to the turns wasn't as quick as she wanted it to be, "Do you trust me?" She asked them.

"Of course not! What kind of question is that?!" They yelled as they kept their eyes on the road and continued weaving between cars.

She shook her head before replying, "Well, I'm sorry for this then."

Before Y/N could ask why Yelena grabbed the steering wheel and pulled it quickly. This caused the car to nearly flip but was caught by another car as it crashed into the side of it. Y/N hadn't hit the break, which left the car continuing forward and down into the subway tunnel.

"What! THE FUCK!" They yelled as the car was flying down the steps just before skidding down into the landing. It had seemed that they had lost the Widows momentarily as they weren't as close as they had been, but that quickly changed as they heard another car begin to make their way down at the top of the stairs.

Nat yelled at both Yelena and Y/N to follow her as she jumped up into the vent above their car. The two followed and Nat threw the vent door back shut so that no one would see them. Thankfully, that subway station had been abandoned and no one was there to get hurt.

"You think this is going to work?" Y/N asked as they tried to catch their breath. Y/N was never a fighter or even in the field like this at all. They'd usually been in the background researching and guiding those on where to go. Some training allowed them to hold their own but fights and getaways like this were way out of their comfort zone.

She nodded back in response as Yelena laid back next to her, "Clint and I hid up here for a few days before. It's safe."

Yelena looked around at the markings on the wall and laughed, "You all are losers, wow."

"Can you just tell us what to do now? And possibly leave the fucking sarcasm and remarks out of it?" Y/N asked while visibly frustrated, "You already ruined my car. Let's leave the other shit out now."

She sat up as she dusted off her pants that had gotten dirty from the wreck and the vents. It was clear that sarcasm was all she knew as she tried to think for a moment before responding.

"Let's stay here for a bit longer until I know they're gone. Once they've left and I know that we're good, I know a place that we can go to get away from them."
