Chapter 7: There's A Rumour

We decided to spend our time on 7/11 after we pranked Bogum. Gosh, if you just saw his face, I swear you'll die of laughter. I ain't even exaggerating

"HAHAHAHAHA I can't believe it" she laughed real loud as she slap my arm

"Ouch, no need to get violent. It was all you" I laughed with her as we talk about what just happened

"No, seriously" she said as she wipe her tears from laughing "He really peed his pants when I whispered what you told me to say"

"I know where you hide your hello kitty underwear" we both said and laughed again when we remember what we just did

"We should stop this, my stomach hurts from laughing" I said while holding my stomach

"You should take a rest, we'll visit your friends tomorrow"

"Yeah, I'm starting to feel a little weak actually"

"It's the effect. It's best if you could cross the border within the next 10 hours" she said and caressed my hair

"Thanks" I said softly as I look into her eyes

"For what?"

"For helping me, I know it's not part of your job and I'm just giving you a head ache, not to mention you're risking your promotion for me"

"What can I say? I like extracurricular activities" she chuckled

"What happens after you get the promotion? Do you just see your past life? Are there any other rewards?"

"Uh.... There's a rumour going on but I don't know if it's true" her brows furrow as she try to think

"What rumour?" I asked since I'm curious too

"That after you get promoted, you'll be given a chance to get reincarnated"

"Do you know anyone who got promoted?"

"No. After you get promoted your colleagues slash co-grim reaper will forget you, every memory of you will get erased from them and they won't remember anything about you" she explained while doing hand gestures

"Oh........ Maybe that's how some grim reaper's got the theory, it makes a lot of sense" I replied

"It does" she exhaled deeply

"Anyway, I know you'll get promoted. If not now, someday you will be. You're the best grim reaper I know" I said and gave her a thumbs up using both of my hands

She giggles as she reply "I'm the only grim reaper you know"

"Well, I know Seulgi and I know for sure she's not as hard working as you are. FYI I'm a good judge of character"

"You're only saying that because I'm helping you, although it's true I'm a hard working grim reaper and so far the best in the field" she replied cockily that earned another smack from me

"And you're way more prettier" I said and gave her a thumbs up again

"I know right" she replied and we both laugh

Seriously speaking, I don't understand this girl. She's funny, nice, and makes me comfortable easily. What grave thing could she have done in her past life that made her a grim reaper? The only grave thing I can think of, is her killing somebody. I know whatever it is, is none of my business. But I just can't help to think what could it be. My non existent brain is hurting from thinking

"I want to sleep but I'm hungry" I said

"We're here in 7/11 right now, let's just look for leftovers" she said and stood up to look around

"Can't we just get something? Just like in the bus stop we just rode for free" I said and followed her

"We can't, in bus stop you'll just sit where no one is sitting but when it comes to food, it should be left overs or someone has to offer it to you" she said and proceed to walk around

I sulked and looked around to see some left over food,but there's none.

"Just sit there" Lisa said and made me seat on a table next to a couple who just bought their snacks. Oh great, I hope they broke up. You can't blame me if I'm bitter right now, I'm hungry. That's my excuse

She went to the couple and observed them at first. What is she doing? I wondered and kept my eyes on her and monitored her movements. She went beside the girl and whispered something that I failed to hear but I watched her lips and try to distinguish what she's saying 'he's cheating, look at his phone' she said. The lady sitting opposite on her boyfriend grabbed his phone and read the messages

"What are you doing? Give it back" the guy said as he reach for his phone

The girl quickly dodges his hand and scrolled through her boyfriend's phone. She scoffed and threw the phone on her boyfriend's face

"What am I doing? I know you're cheating on me. Don't lie to me now, I've seen it all" she quickly stood up and left

"Wait, I'll explain" the guy stood up and ran towards his girlfriend

"And that's how you get a free food" Lisa said and gestured me to sit on the chair

I clapped my hands and sat on the chair "Amazing, bravo, fantastic, excellent, unbelievable, impressive, and any other words" I said and sat down on the chair she offered

She sat on the chair opposite me and laughed "The guy deserves it"

"He does, and if I that girl takes him back, I'll say she's dumb" I said and arranged the food in front of me "Thanks for the meal"

"True" she said and digged on on her food

"Hmmhmm" I said as I slurp on my noodle "Free food just taste so good"

"Another true"

"I'm gonna ask a question I hope you don't mind"

"You can always ask question, what is it?"

"Do you always wait for people to go or find left overs whenever you eat?"

"No" she chuckles "The families of the deceased offer food on burials, Grim reaper's eat food on the family's burial of every soul they deliver"

"Oh..... okay........ so will..... you eat on my burial?" I asked

"I will" she replied shortly

"Good, atleast I can pay you back for something" I said and smiled at her

I don't know why we have to meet like this. Me as dead and her as a grim reaper. I'm thankful that I met her but not in this circumstance. How I wished I met her in this life not as dead but when I'm alive maybe we'd be friends or more than that. I'm hoping in my next life I could meet her again, where things might be better
