getting ready for debut

Jay's POV

I woke up to my arm being numb. I looked to my left to see a sleeping Ni-ki. I smiled at the sight of him sleeping. I quickly pecked his cheek, climbing over his body to get some water. I walked into the kitchen, grabbing a glass of water. I heard someone walk out of the bedroom.

I turned my head to see a half asleep Ni-ki, standing in front of the door with his eyes closed. "What are you doing awake?" I whispered to him, while walking closer to him. "I noticed that you weren't in bed," he sleepily said, with the cutest pout. I smiled at him "Do you wanna go back to bed? It's 5:30 in the morning," I said while checking the clock that was on the wall. He nodded, grabbing my hand.

I walked back into the kitchen, putting the glass in the sink, while Ni-ki was following me. I walked back with him into the bedroom. He slowly climbed back into my bed, giving me grabby hands. I chuckled going into the bed with him. He rested his head on my arm, clinging to the side of my body.

"Goodnight baby," I whispered into his ear. He lifted his head, going closer to my face, giving me a small peck on the lips. He then went back to his position, getting more comfortable.

I blushed a little, but then I quickly panicked. I looked around room to see if anyone was awake or anyone heard. I sighed in relief, because luckily everyone was asleep. Meaning they didn't hear or see anything. I looked down at Ni-ki to see him already passed out. I then rested my head on my pillow, quickly falling asleep.

Time skip to when they get to the Big Hit Building (I know it's now called HYBE Labels, but at the time it was still called Big Hit Entertainment)

As we walked into the Big Hit building, the staff told us to go into a recording room, where we would learn about our debut song and have some vocal tests. We all gathered around the table that was in the room. "Goodmorning Enhypen! I am Ms Lee and I would just like to go over a few things with you," the woman at the front of the table said. "So the leader is Yang Jungwon?" The woman asked "Yep," Jungwon said, sort of raising his hand.

"Ok well, I went through all your profiles and can Lee Heeseung please go into the recording room please," Heeseung hyung walked into the recording room, putting on the headphones. "Please read the lyrics and sing in whatever way you want," (I don't how they actually do it. So I'm making it up as I go along).

Time skip to after everyone did a recording

"Ok so, I have the lyrics of your debut song here in my hands and I will show you the back track of the song," Ms Lee said, handing the papers to everyone. "The song is called Given-Taken and I will now show you the back track," Ms Lee said, starting the back track. I bopped my head at the song.

Once it was finished she told us to start looking at the papers. I opened my paper, to see some parts highlighted, showing which parts where mine. "So you have been sent the song with people singing, which will help you learn the song and lyrics better," Ms Lee said. "Ok you guys may now go to your dorm to practice, goodbye," She said, bowing to us. We stood up to bowing to her, then walking out of the room.

As I was walking back to the van, Ni-ki came up to me, clinging to my arm. "Hello," I said to him while smiling. "Can you help me with the lyrics later? I don't get some of the words...," He asked me in Japanese. "Sure," I said, also in Japanese.

We got into the van and Ni-ki was sitting next to me. We were sitting in one of the front seats, meaning we were sitting only next to each other. He kept on clinging to arm, not because he wanted affection. It just seemed like something was wrong. "Hey, are you ok?" I asked him in Japanese. He nodded while avoiding eye contact with me. "Look at me Ni-ki," He looked at me and I saw him almost upset. I gave him a questioning look. "I'm sorry," He said. "What did you do?" I whispered. "Wait," he said, while looking through his bag.

He pulled out his phone, sending me a message.

I'm just paranoid.

What if we get caught? I mean Jake hyung
found us out really quickly

Yeah but what if?

I heard him sniffle, so I looked towards Ni-ki to see him on the verge of crying. I brought him into a hug, nearly crying myself. "Hey, is Ni-ki ok?" I looked to my left to Sunghoon asking me. "Yeah I'm fine," he said, while quickly turning off his phone, whipping his tears.

"You're not ok. What's the matter? Hm?" Sunghoon asked Ni-ki. "I said I'm fine,". I gave Ni-ki a hug, noticing that Sunghoon was looking back at Jungwon, while pointing to Ni-ki. I kept on hugging Ni-ki with him just sitting still. "It's ok. Nothing will happen. We won't get caught," I whispered to Ni-ki in Japanese. He hugged me back.

Jungwon came down, to where Ni-ki and I were. He gave me ok sign, asking if he was ok. I nodded while smiling. He took one more look at Ni-ki, before going back to his seat. I saw in the corner of eye, one of staff staring at us. I could tell she was worried, so I just mouthed the words 'he's ok'. She nodded turning back.

Ni-ki retracted from the hug and I could see his cheeks were sort of tear stained. I wiped his cheeks with my thumb. "Everyone, we are now at your dorm," a staff member said. "Come on, let's go," I said, grabbing his hand and our belongings. We got into our dorm and he almost immediately ran to the bathroom.

I sighed, rubbing my eyes while walking to the couch. I rested my head back, closing my eyes. "Can you tell me what happened with Ni-ki?" I heard Jungwon ask me. At first I nodded but didn't say anything.

I wasn't going to say something like 'oh we're dating and he's scared we'll get caught'. He's just a little stressed out about debut and all," it was the best excuse I could come up with in a short amount of time. "Ok," he said. Although, it seemed like he didn't believe me.

Ni-ki's POV

I am so stressed out and scared about getting caught. What will happen if we won't be able to debut, because we get caught? Will that effect the others on being able to debut? All these thoughts kept running through my head.

I can't help but tear up at the thought. I walked up to the sink in the bathroom and washed face. I looked at the mirror and started crying again. I heard a knock at the door, so I quickly washed my face one more time, drying it off.

I opened the door, to see Jay hyung. "Want me to help you-," I cut him off by hugging him. I saw the lyrics in his hand, so I know what he was going to asking me. "Sure," I said. "Ok," he said. I grabbed his hand, taking him into the living room.

For the rest of the afternoon he helped me with the words that I didn't understand. Translating them into Japanese. Though the thought was always at the back of my head. What if we get caught?
