yeji accidentally hung up on him as she put on her coat over her dark blue pajamas.

there's no way he would say that, she doubted.

on the way out the door, she paused to look at the mirror. the good thing about her being sad is that no one can tell—at least on the outside.

she got to his favorite bar and walked in, scanning the people in the room until her eyes fell on a hunched over figure in the corner downing a glass. his movements were sloppy—sluggish, his head barely lifting off of the crook of his arm to drink properly.

walking over, she tapped him on the shoulder to get his attention. he slowly lifted his head to see who it was.

"let's go," she said, tugging on his arm and gesturing him to get up. this hour is ungodly.

it took a few moments for him to register her face in the dim lights. he wiped his wet eyes and nose with the sleeve of his dark gray blazer.

"why are you here?" he asked, wiping another round of fresh tears and averting his gaze.

she sighed. and yanked his arm harder, making him stumble out of his seat. if she wasn't holding him, he would've fallen on the floor.

"can you stand?" she half snapped, looking around her to see if people were watching. some were, including the bartender. she sheepishly smiled and apologized—though it wasn't a very abnormal sight anyways.

she hung up on him, he remembered. how dare she. it wasn't very long but the short time it took for her to hang up on him and arrive at the bar was completely miserable. so he decided no—no he cannot.

"what are you—stop!"

his limbs seemed to go limp and suddenly she was trying to carry all of his weight.

... panic! many more were looking this time. heat rushed to her face and she clenched her jaw—probably to keep from just taking him by an ankle and dragging him out that way.

"are you kidding me?!" she hissed, trying to choke him to death with her eyes as he slouched on the floor in a turtle position. her gaze changed: "eheheh—sorry."

propping him further up so his face wasn't nearly touching the dirty floor, she latched her arms around his chest. his arms hung like noodles on both sides of him and his head hung back as she tried to pull him to his feet. glazed robot eyes looked upwards towards the ceiling.

after a good moment of struggling, she managed to get him on his feet, head lolled on her shoulder. however, it lasted only for a couple seconds.

her arms were around his waist—the only force keeping him up. the rest was falling like runny slime, his back draping backwards and—if she were to let him go—he would fold backwards so that his head would be near his feet.

adjusting a hand behind his head, she pulled it towards him so that she could whisper in his ear.

"i know you can stand up," she whispered, voice dark, "i'm gonna give you two seconds to get your ass up or i'm leaving you."

no response.

"one.. t—"

he scrambled up like nothing happened.

"that's what i thought," she muttered, his arm around her shoulder. he leaned on her as they walked out the bar. she won't be coming there for a long time—maybe never, actually.

"is soobin home?" she asked as she helped him into the car.

he groggily nodded. with his words slurring together: "but i can't go there."

"why not?"

"lia came over."

yeji narrowed her eyes in suspicion at that but dismissed it. lia's grown...wait. no. she has a lot of things to say to her in the morning.

"where were you going to stay the night?"

at beomgyu's apartment.

"...no where."

he looked at her in the saddest way he could and he didn't need to fake it.

another sigh left her as she closed the door.

it was a fortunately smooth journey to her apartment. the warmth of home was comforting.

she led him in, hauling him over to the couch. he slumped, on the verge of passing out.

"stay here. i'll get you blankets—and no lying on your back."

moving quickly, she couldn't wait to get to bed, figuring that she could deal with him in the morning. there was no energy to spare at the moment.

plopping onto her bed and pulling the sheets over her, she was—also—ready to pass out. and so she did.

in reality, she only slept for about ten minutes before something heavy weighed down across her stomach.

"the heck—what are you doing?"

he mumbled something incoherent into the blanket.

"ugh!" she exclaimed, relenting. "at least lay down properly!"

after another moment of struggle, he was lying facing her, black hair hanging over his puffy half closed eyes. she shoved him in the other direction.

"puke on me and i'll kill you for real," she continued. he sniffled in response.

yet another sigh left her as she stared at his back. shifting herself to her side, she faced away from him but moved closer.

they would deal with whatever they were in the morning, but for now the warmth of being close was enough.

and, in the morning, he could try denying everything he said.

"i'm worried about yeonjun," soobin said as he took another glance at the clock.

"don't be," lia said, grabbing a handful of popcorn, "beomgyu went to check on him because he didn't come to his place and sent me a picture of them in the middle of the bar."

"who was he with?"

she showed him her phone. he stared at it for longer than he would've if it wasn't so weird. they looked like they were doing a tango or something...?

"what even is that? ... send it to me."

ariel was singing part of your world in the background. this was the third disney movie.

"i'm rewinding it—you distracted me," lia said as she took the remote from where it was in the crook of the couch. "send it yourself."

he airdropped the picture to his phone.

"sure," he replied with a shrug and relaxing back into the couch. "i hope they work it out."

"they probably will—on that note, let's watch anastasia next."

"is that even disney?"

"i don't know—who cares?"

"eh, fine. but we're watching toy story next."
