Many fans probably want to be Gryffindors. That's where our favorite trio is from. They get to be a part of the most popular kids, right?
But Pottermore explains, that fans, who are sorted into Slytherins should be proud of being sorted there. Snakes can be scary creatures, and some of them are venomous. It's easy to judge a snake and judge them thanks to our preconceived notions.
Snakes are resourceful; however. They're also good at starting over again. They shed their skin when they start to grow, and this lets them have a new beginning. Being a Slytherin means constant growth.
