The looming trees in the distance sent a shiver down Bradley Hunter Jr.'s spine.
Bradley Hunter Jr heard many stories about the woods. Most he passed off as fake, but a few made him question what lurked beyond the fronting trees.
As he looked into the impending darkness, where the tree blocked the light from the sun, he could swear he saw the glare of glasses reflecting in the sun.
He shook the thought from his mind as his mind went back to the piece of paper he was holding.
His report card.
He had gotten a high A in everything. Everything except for science. He got an D. An 69%. That's a failing grade. And his parents would not be happy with him.
His bus slowly rolled by the frighting woodland and onto his block. Sooner than Bradley Hunter Jr would anticipate, the bus rolled to a complete stop.
Bradley Hunter Jr. got up from his seat and started to walk down the busses isle, which felt like he was walking to his death. And little did he know, he was.
Bradley Hunter Jr. slowly walked down the busses steps, and walked to his house and opened the door.
His parents were sitting at the counter talking to each other. When they noticed Bradley Hunter Jr's presence, they immediately grew silent.
"Bradley Hunter Jr! Welcome home." His mom got up from her seat and was about to hug him, but had a glance at his report card.
"What is this?" Bradley Hunter Jr.'s mom exclaimed, RIPPING the card out his hand.
"A 69%?! In science?!" Bradley Hunter Jr's mom hissed.
"Billy Bob Gruff! Look at this!" Bradley Hunter Jr's mom turned to Bradley Hunter Jr's dad.
Bradley Hunter Jr's dad got up from his seat and picked up Bradley Hunter Jr's report card that was handed to him by Bradley Hunter Jr's mom.
"A D?! This is unacceptable!" Bradley Hunter Jr's dad roared.
"I can't believe this! No son of mine would EVER get a D!" Bradley Hunter Jr's mom screamed.
"Then I won't be your son!" Bradley Hunter Jr yelled, before stomping out the door before his parents could stop him.
Once he got out of the door, he ran as fast as he could. Where? He didn't know. The only thing he did know was that he had to get away.
Bradley Hunter Jr had been running for a while before he finally decided to look up. In front of him, was the very forest he saw on the bus.
And he planned on entering it.
He slowed once he was 10 feet from the impending trees. If his parents didn't want him, then so be it! He stepped into the forest, thus sealing his doom.
