She hummed an went back to her desk. Class soon began and I was looking out the window a bit in a daze.

School has ended and I was in archery club doing some practices. Grinny was just vibing next to my backpack as I did my target practice.

I felt eyes on me though and I shot my arrow then looked away. I looked around and didn't see anyone around or in plain sight.

"Hey G!" Axel called

I turned around an saw axel an the team coming over.

"Whoa did you do all those shots!" Bryce asked

The football team showed how impressed they were and I smiled.

"Yeah, I've taken some defense classes an stuff recently." I said," it's surprisingly calming."

"Well that's good, keep it up!" Axel cheered

Bryce then handed axel a football and axel took it.

"Right! We have a gift- or cameron had a gift for you but whatever!" Axel teased

He passed me the football and I looked at it as I took it in my hands.

"Its the same football cameron scored a three in a row touchdown with!" Axel said softly," he signed it and said he wanted to give it to you last year but he never got it back from the coaches."

My heart sank as I stared at it and saw his signature.

"He said it was for you because he wanted one of his best friends to remember him no matter where they are." Axel said gently, as if trying to prove something

My eyes flooded with tears and I hugged the ball.

"I don't deserve it...I couldn't protect him..." I said on the verge of tears

I crashed to my knees and cried. The team crouched an comforted me an tried to calm me down.

"Yeah...we thought so." Bryce said softly," you always looked hurt when we mentioned his name..."

They hugged me an let me cry as I kept hold of the football in my arms.

"I tried so hard! We were so so close!" I cried," he was so close to leaving with me but I couldn't protect them! I couldn't protect any of them!"

They sounded sad and I tried to calm down. So much has changed and I'm not sure if any of it will change for the better.

After a bit of crying I was a bit calm and they helped me up. I held onto the ball tight and I tried not to cry again as I cleaned my face.

"I didn't have the heart to say it, I tried to believe they would come back-"

They showed me a camera and showed me that they recorded it. They explained how they wanted to record something to prove I'm not a killer and to stop the harassment.
