Marienette looked up at me and showed me her phone's lock screen. "He's in foster care right now The police took him away when my ex got abusive. They said once I'm stable I can have him back. But I haven't been able to get a job or a place to live so I just get drunk and have sex."

I geld Mari closer to me before kissing her head. "Stay here. You can be my roommate! I have two extra rooms." Mari looked up at me and kissed my cheek. "Oh thankyou Luka! But are you sure? I can't pay rent yet." I shook my head and stood up. "I'll pay rent Mari, you can get a job  when he's older."

Mari smiled he biggest smile I have ever seen. "I've got to get sober first... and I need to legally move in." I ruffled her hair. "Don't worry I'll help you, I won't leave you alone."
