Misfortune Route - Chapter 6

As petty as it sounded, he wanted to look for her. One moment, he was begging for Lady Nagant. Now he wanted to search for Satoko?

(I must be outta my mind. I don't want to lose her.)

He knew that it was too late. Satoko isn't the type to blindly come back into a relationship like this. Knowing her background too, he really is trash.

(Even if it takes me a lifetime to atone myself, I will.)

It was like he had forgotten about the Commission momentarily. Blinded with emotions, he flapped out of his window to search for Satoko.

The feather on her necklace was something he was able to find her location quickly. Then, he noticed that it was near the League of Villains.

There was a dread he felt. If he landed there, the Commission could be tracking him. They don't know their location. It could very well put Satoko in danger. Mindlessly flying about, he made it so he was still circling around.

He landed on top of a building in the distance. Away from the League. His hands clasped roughly against his face in an agonized manner.

(What have I done?)

He lost the very woman he truly loved. If he can't even forgive himself, why should she?

...

Dabi had taken Satoko inside the League's building to show Shigaraki that she's returned.

Satoko's eyes were puffy. She looked pretty awful as she slowly stepped inside.

When Shigaraki saw her, he instantly felt a wave of relief wash over him. There was always that fear that she would never come back even though he did have hope. Then he saw the way her eyes looked. He glared at Dabi. "I told you not to hurt her."

"I didn't." Dabi seemed exhausted by just one accusation. "It was that scumbag Hawks."

"Shigaraki? You aren't mad that I left either?" She didn't even lift her head up. It was hard for her to fathom that. Because if it were the other way around, she would be angry if her friends abandoned her. "I willingly stayed with Hawks, but..."

"What did he do?" Shigaraki asked. He walked closer to the other two. He really did care for her. It was obvious by that point. If Hawks did something to harm someone he cared about, that was just one more hero to add to the list.

This was all too uncomfortably strange. Her guard was still up, but she felt like a helpless child at this moment. Heartbreak can cause such a psychological distress to make one so fragile.

However, she decided to keep it brief with Shigaraki. She didn't want to repeat the whole thing.

"He cheated on me." Her voice shook. "He tried to get information about the League, but I wouldn't give him anything." Her eyes twisted into a pained anger. "He was only doing his job as a spy to be with me."

Shigaraki scratched his neck. "So he took you away only to cheat on you? He's worse than I thought! I knew he couldn't be trusted when he took you from us, but to cheat...?!"

"I never told him that Dabi caught onto him being a spy." She sadly continued. "It's because you guys gave me your secrets to entrust me with them." Her eyes glistened in anger. "I never would have told anyone his secrets, but he broke my trust."

Once loyalty is broken in Satoko's code is when she breaks. He betrayed her first.

"I decided that I will fully join the League in order to stop people like him." Her resolve was so firm as her fists shook to the sides of her. A stray tear came out of her left eye indicating sorrow.
