Our lips finally met as they wedged into each other. I moved my lips in sync with his as my thoughts raced. This wasn't my first kiss. My first kiss was with a boy named Jonathan, in 7th grade, during a game of truth or dare. Jonathan had been nervous and sweaty and he didn't exactly know where to put his hands or that he wasn't supposed to jam his tongue down my throat. This kiss was mature, Alex cupped my face with one hand and my hip with the other. We might not have been the most comfortable in his smelly car, but to say the least: there wasn't a saliva line between our lips after he pulled away. Short and sweet.

"Goodnight Lenix," he smiled sweetly at me as I opened the door to leave.

"See you tomorrow... muscles," he chuckled. I was still high off our kiss as I walked up the steps to my house. I walked through the living room to see my parents watching T.V.

"Did you have fun at your friends house?" my mother questioned me.

"Yeah, I had a great time, and we finished the project." I tried not to let a suspicious smile let my parents know that I had just been kissing a boy. They wouldn't have been angry; just embarrassing.

I walked up the stairs to my room, and laid in bed. Teddy meowed at my presence and cuddled up next to me. Wait till I tell Fiona about my night.

The next day I was kinda lonely and bored considering both my parents were at work. It was one of those feelings were you don't want to do anything, but you just want to do something. I know, I know: major first world problems here. My phone began to buzz on my nightstand; it was Fiona. I think she's a mind reader.

"Hey Lenny! You bored? Are you free?" Fiona asked energetically as soon as I answered the phone.

"Please don't call me Lenny. How many energy drinks have you had?" I'm becoming a parent.

"That didn't answer any of the questions I asked." I could almost hear her pout.

I let out a sigh, but I couldn't help but smile "Yeah, I'm free. I'm glad you called;I was really bored."

"Sounds like your life before you met me. Okay, I'll be there in 20 minutes. Oh, and Toby's here too! Bye!"

I giggled as the line went dead, indicating she had hung up without my response. Fiona was definitely an interesting person: she's a friend to the world and seems as if she's always doing something fun. Her and Toby are a year above me even though we share the same language class, so they're probably driving here themselves.

20 minutes later, as if on cue, the doorbell rang. I closed my laptop and grabbed my purse as I headed towards the door. I opened the door to see Fiona bouncing with energy and Toby looking like he was on the verge of insanity. Fiona is great, but she can be handful.

Fiona did a spit take, spewing her iced tea all over the cement. She barely missed poor Toby.

"You did what?!?!" She screamed at me. Her face spelled out disbelief. Should I be offended? I guess it was just a lot to take in. I should have been more subtle about it... and waited until she wasn't practically inhaling her drink.

"Wow Lenix. You've got mad game," he chuckled through the slight awkwardness that had suddenly befallen us. I reddened at the thought of myself having any 'game' at all. Unless fangirling about TV shows with Alex was considered mad game that is.

"Well, looks like someone's been having a productive weekend without us. And it's only Saturday!" Fiona gave me a dirty look. Remind me not to get on her bad side again. I didn't understand why it was a big deal, but Fiona was clearly mad about it.

I grinned at her "Get that stick out of your butt and help me order."

We had stopped at Fiona's favorite vegetarian restaurant: Veggie Heaven. It was brimming with people, so we were forced to sit outside. It was 60 degrees outside (Fahrenheit for the rest of the world outside the U.S.), which was nice, even though it's the middle of winter. That's Texas for you.

I gulped down the lo mein that I ordered. Fiona was right: this is the best Chinese food I've ever had. I looked over to see Toby pushing away Fiona, who was trying to eat Toby's food. Then they began bickering like an old married couple. I smiled to myself. It's amazing that I've only known these two for a week and yet we can have lunch and talk as if we've known eachother our entire lives.

"I had fun guys, text me later!" I stepped out of the car onto the sidewalk that led up to my house. I grabbed my key from my purse as I made the walk up to the door.

"Lenix, wait a minute."

Fiona jogged up next to me, as I waited. Once she reached me she crossed her legs and held her hands behind her back, I don't read people very well, but this was turning into a painfully awkward chat.

"Hey, are you okay?" She was starting to worry me.

Instead of looking at me, she was focused on the ground, moving a pebble around with her converse. "I'm fine- it's just... I'm sorry... About getting mad about you... and Alex. I just don't want to see you get hurt." She finally raised her head and made eye contact with me. She looked so sincere and emotional.

"I- hey, it's fine. Don't worry about it." Oh god, I'm so bad at comforting people. I awkwardly laughed. Fiona has never acted like this before. I appreciated the apology, but she was acting like a boy who had discovered girls for the first time.

"Are you sure you're okay? This isn't an awkward first date, we're friends; you don't have to be awkward around me." I gave her a reassuring smile.

Fiona blushed and laughed. "Well, you've got that straight. I'm being dumb, I'm not sure why I'm being so childish about apologizing. We'll see you on Monday."

Fiona ran to the tiny Volkswagen car. Once she closed the door I started walking to my house again, I was almost to be door when I heard Fiona shout from the car:

"Don't forget to text us!"
