LOST

Moving day

It was the year 2003,  April 7th to be exact and Alice a girl from Georgia was packing her stuff into cardboard boxes and bringing them out to a moving van in front of her house. All she wanted to do was run away and was dredging every step she took towards the moving van. Alice lived in a farm house that was two stories tall with a huge barn next to it and tons of open farm land. She would get up at the crack of dawn every day and help her mom and dad around the house and out in the farm. She had tons of chickens,cows,sheep,ducks,horses,And goats but also had 3 farm dogs molly,tucker,and buck  and 4 farm/house cats bow,camo,doe,and hawk. Alice loved her home,her animals,and especially her family. Leaving it behind was not gonna be easy but at least she knew the animals would be taken care of by a nice farmer, his wife and two kids that bought the land. Your probably wondering why Alice is leaving the only home she ever knew we'll let me explain. Alice's dad had  died three months ago on January 5th and it was a traumatic and devastating event for her and her mother. Her dad  had gotten  really sick and could not fight the disease. Soon Alice's mother started talking to Stan smith a wealthy man from New York with two daughters Ella and grace. And at first Alice's mothers or also known as Mary was only talking to Stan because he helped people find new homes and at the time Mary wanted to move to the big city,but soon Stan became very close to Mary and Mary very close with him and his two daughters. Soon after on February 26th Stan proposed to Mary and they had the wedding on March 16th. This broke Alice and all she could think is how only 2 months after her dad died her mother  was already married. Alice really loved her father and spent a lot of time with him and when he died Alice was heartbroken. And now that her mother was already getting married it seems like she never cared about him,but the wedding was nice it was in this big glass building with a chandelier and the cake and foods where absolutely delicious and Stan had given Alice a beautiful white dress with flowers stitched into it and told Alice she "looked nice and was so happy he meet her mother".  Alice tired to like Stan but utterly despised him and his daughters witch where very rude to her . Alice knew it was not stans  fault for liking her mother it was her mother's fault for marrying him but Alice still hated Stan. While at the wedding Alice asked her new stepsisters Grace and Ella about some of the things in the building because she had never seen them before and we can't blame her I mean she had lived on a farm all her life and the only time her mom or dad went to the city was to go to the bank or to get something important you could not find in the local market near there house. Alice had only been in the city once and it was when she was 8 (at the moment Alice is 14 soon to be 15) and the only reason she got to go was because she begged her father. Alice thought "it's sad to think he's gone now" "what good memories we had" Alice was on the verge of running away and crying when she felt someone pull her arm she turned around and it was Ella "come on we showed you enough stuff the actual wedding ceremony is starting soon" said Ella and behind her was grace who looked annoyed as ever. Alice felt bad she had dozed off and said "sorry I'm coming" then she heard a woman speak into a microphone and say "everyone take your seats the bride will be coming out soon" when Alice heard this her heart stoped and it felt like a wave of sadness washed over her and she could feel it beating her down, and just wanted to sob but she kept herself together and rushed over to Ella and grace and sat down next to them. Alice could tell that they where not thrilled about this whole wedding thing either or their dad getting married "but its not like their dad died or they just moved and lost their house I mean they have been threw nothing...spoiled brats" thought Alice but she knew not to let her own anger and sadness make her have negative thoughts because one day she would end up saying it to their face. "What happened to their mother anyways?" Thought Alice but then she remembered what she over heard her mother saying on the phone last Tuesday. "Yes it's to bad she left those poor girls" said Mary(Alice's mother) "was she even a good mother?" "Oh that's a pity..." Alice was on the other side of the door listening in and from what she had gathered Ella and Grace's mother had divorced their dad or also known as Stan smith the guy her mother was marrying. Alice felt bad for Ella and Grace and thought maybe the "loosing one parent" deal would help them become close but after meeting them and them being rude to her and also the fact that their mother had only just left them and was still alive but Alice's dad just died I mean she would never get to see him again but Ella and Grace could see their mom anytime and she heard on another phone call her mom had on Friday that they girls had a good bond with their mother and saw her all the time. Alice now knew that there would be no "close stepsister bond" all it would be was two new sisters that hated her for no reason at all...well other then her mom marrying their dad but it's not her fault she can't control them but oh well I guess. Alice finally got out of her thoughts and looked up to see her mother already walking to the stand "had I really been that dozed off again" Alice thought. It was a nice wedding but it was basic the same wedding Music that they always play and everything is in white. Soon Stan smith, Alice's stepfather, was at the stand too in front of her mother and then you know how it goes they put the ring on then the "you may kiss the bride!" And then everyone dances and eats cake blah blah blah blah. Anyways after the stupid wedding ceremony Alice ran to the bathroom and sat there for a while and cried...stoped....then cried again... then eventually left the bathroom and meet up with her mother who was crowded by people and photographers and- WAIT WHAT?! Alice saw her mother her new step father Stan and Ella and Grace taking a family photo. What was going on ..had they forgot about her? WAS SHE GETTING REPLACED?? Alice started to cry again and ran away and to make it more dramatic her mother saw her and ran after her. Alice stormed into the bathroom and fell to the ground and started sobbing her heart out that's when her mom burst in the bathroom and asked "what is wrong Alice!" .... "Well you guys forgot about me! Your gonna replace me aren't you ! Didn't even want me in the wedding photos!" Said Alice in a cry like voice then her mother looked down at her said "it's just one photo without you and I was rushed into it I tired to look for you honey...I'm sorry Alice". Alice then looked up at her mother and wiped her nose "I'm sorry..this is just very stressful" said Alice then her mother softy touched her cheeks and wiped her teary eyes and in a mellow voice said "I know butterfly it's hard but this will be good for us" Alice wanted to object but she knew her mom was happy  and didn't wanna ruin it so she hugged her mother and just said "okay" then her mother said "get yourself cleaned up then meet me in the food section so we can eat cake together there is like 10 different flavors !! " her mother said then she smiled and laughed and left the bathroom. Alice felt better and cleaned herself up and was thinking about her mom calling her butterfly. She loved it when her parents called her that especially her father. Alice missed his soft smile and him calling her butterfly "oh my sweet butterfly " the sound of her father saying that echoed in her head and made her feel like she was safe. "Ok time to eat some cake!" Said Alice as she walked out of the bathroom and met up with her mother.
