Headcannon: Niè Míngjué x Female Lán Reader (arranged marriage au)

Niè Míngjué and you were arranged in a marriage since birth, ever since you were born. When you found out about the arranged marriage, you were furious because you saw the way how Niè Míngjué treated people and how he treated Niè Huáisāng, which was his own brother. Even though your brother Lán Xīchén, tried to persuade you that he wasn't that bad, he was just strict and just had bad temper. However, you still were furious with this arrangement. After you and Niè Míngjué wed, you guys were like strangers that were forced to live with each other. Niè Míngjué however, did tried to be nice to you but because of you and your pride, you kept on rejecting him. It was like that until you saw the way he treated  Niè Huáisāng. You shouted at him for treating Niè Huáisāng like this. You reminded him that he is still young, and still has a lot to learn but shouting and threatening him like this isn't the right way to teach him.

"Niè Míngjué! I understand your sect leader and you want your clan to be safe. But how dare you treat Niè Huáisāng, like this. He is still young. How is he going to learn when all you're doing is shouting and threatening him! He is your brother! If you want him to learn don't abuse your power."

Niè Míngjué was surprised when you raised your voice at him like this. He never expected anyone especially you to shout at him like this. He thought everyone was used to him treating everyone like this but he never expected you to say something about his behaviour. After this incident, your and his relationship started to improve more. He respected and admired you. You slowly started to like Niè Míngjué. You realised that your brother was right. Even though Niè Míngjué  was bad tempered and strict, he still cares about his sect and his family.

When you started to realise your feelings for him. You thought that Niè Míngjué would never love you and that he just see's you as a friend or sworn sibling. Niè Míngjué also had feelings for you but he rejected them because of his pride and he also thought that you just see him as a friend since you disliked the way he treated people. However, when you guys figured out your feelings for each other. You were happy that he felt the same way as you did.
