"I swear your like Moose from Archiem" she sighed, patting my cheek and doing that damn duckface
"You look constipated." Is all I said, curled over laughing. Wrong words. With a gasp, she socked me in the shoulder before walking over to Sarah and Lexi, her arms crossed. She said something to them before Sarah shook her head, mouthing the word 'boys'. Rolling my eyes, I went to the common area, seeing Luke, Josh, and Steele sitting there talking about something
"How you managed to keep Ace so calm is beyond me." I growled, dropping down beside Steele
"I didn't, she hit me more times than I can count. Why, what's wrong?" He asked, grinning
"Kira pulled that duckface expression, and I told her she looked constipated." I admitted, leaning my head back against the wall as all three started laughing
"You dumb fuck!" Steele cackled, clutching his stomach
"Har har, laugh it up ya little shits." I groaned, closing my eyes
"You're so clueless." Josh muttered, shaking his head as he laughed
"Says you! Lexi's pissed because she likes you, but you're too big of a coward to do something about liking her. You're practically pushing her into that douche Daniels arms!" I told him, watching his face fall and turn red before he glared at me
"I'm not 'pushing her into Daniel's arms', she's happy the way things are!" He grumbled, glaring at me. Without saying anything, Steele pointed towards the corner, where Daniel and Lexi stood flirting
"Yup, she's happy." Luke chuckled as Lexi glanced at Josh before going back to talking to Daniel
"Excuse me." Josh snarled, jumping up and running towards her before throwing her over his shoulder and leaving
"And you, your so fucking dense you can't even see Sarah practically worships you." I told Luke, watching him frown before giving me the finger and walking away
"So you can try to fix every ones problems but your own." Steele laughed, gesturing to where Kira was walking, looking extremely pissed off
"Nope." I grinned, walking over to Kira and kissing her roughly, the hand that wasn't holding her books flying to the back of my neck. Ever so subtly, so Kira wouldn't see, I showed Steele my middle finger.

My last class had just let out, and I quickly made my way to the parking lot where everyone was waiting
"Well, let's get to the hospital!" I smiled, clapping Steele on the back as Kira gripped my hand tightly
"We can't." Steele told us, his voice sounding strangled
"What...why?" Kira asked, sounding nervous
"She woke up," He started
"That's amazing!"
"Well then, why can't we go?" Were two of the many responses
"I didn't finish. She's awake, but has asked the doctors not to let anyone in. Not even her parents." He muttered "she doesn't want to see us." He muttered, scoffing as he quickly reached for his face and brushing something off of it
"Steele...are you okay?" Sarah asked, resting her hand on his arm
"Fucking great!" He snapped, jogging over to his truck, turning it on and peeling out of the parking lot.

Another week passed, and the nurses suddenly stopped telling us that "miss Jobins doesn't want to be disturbed", so we quietly made our way to her room
"What if she doesn't wanna see us?" Kira asked quietly from my side
"Too fucking bad." Steele snarled. He'd been touchy since he found out she didn't wanna see anyone, and we'd pretty well just left him alone about it. He pushed the door open, revealing a doctor and Mr Jobins
"What do you mean-" Mr Jobins cut off his question, noticing us standing there
"What's going on?" Steelenasked, walking over to the angry father
"That's what I'd like to know!" Mr Jobins snarled, glaring at the incredibly nervous doctor
"She's gone." He mumbled
"I'm sorry...what?!" Steele snapped, his eyes suddenly blazing
"S-she left! Sometime last night. She left this." The doctor muttered, handing Steele a note
"I know this is a horrible thing to do, and you're all more than welcome to hate me, but I've decided I need a break; I'm taking a road trip. I don't know when I'm back, but I'll see you all when I do. I'll be home in time for graduation. Love you all, even if now, you all hate me."
Steele read aloud, stumbling over some parts
"She just...left..?" Lexi whispered, staring at the paper in Steele's hands
"I guess so." He snarled before dropping the paper and storming from the room, not looking back.
