"God, why can't my mind just shut up?" You muttered to yourself quietly. You buried your face into your pillow, and slowly but eventually you drifted off into sleep.

-----------------------------------------------------------------

You had a nightmare. Of course, this wasn't really new to you, but this time it wasn't about the past killing games. In your dream, you were sinking in the ocean. Drowning, but when you go to the bottom you were able to breathe again- but only for a moment before you continued sinking...drowning again. And again.

You sat up. "That certainly isn't a good sign." Or maybe it was a good sign. Ryoma dies by drowning and you were drowning and...

"Oh, who am I kidding. I can't seriously be looking to my dreams in order to predict the future now can I?" If the first case with Kaede's suicide taught you anything- it's that you don't know anything about the future. Other than what you can predict that's all...

The morning announcement went off moments later, snapping you out of your dream analysis, you had a magic show to watch after all.

You quickly rushed off, and you were late- being one of the last ones to arrive. Gonta, Korekiyo, Tenko... along with Kirumi, Shuichi and Rantaro were there. Of course, the two that were running the show were there as well.

"Oh (Y/N)! You showed up!" Rantaro waved you over to come sit near him and Shuichi. "Seems like most people are planning to skip out-"

"I'm surprised Kaito isn't here..." Shuichi pointed out with a hint of worry in his voice. "He doesn't seem like he would miss this."

"That's my sidekick! He knows me so well!" A voice speaks from behind you, causing you to flinch. "My bad for being late. I was tryna convince Maki to come but man she would not budge."

Rantaro looked at you a bit worriedly. Obviously thinking of Maki's real talent. "Is... she still by her lab?"

"Yeah! But I'll get her to open up in no time! After all, I'm Kaito Momota! Luminary of the stars!"

Miu and Keebo ended up arriving soon after- and clearly, that was enough people for Angie as she began to start the show.

"I would like to thank Atua-" You immediately started tuning the rest of the beginning speech out. You turned your attention to Himiko, who was obviously nervous. You knew she'd be fine though. However, your hearts started beating slightly faster. Ryoma could be dead. Ryoma could not be dead. This could change everything.

If... Ryoma's not dead. I'll really have to change how I deal with this game.

The selfish part of you hoped that he was dead. As much as you liked Ryoma- you... didn't want to deal with more unknowns.

The sounds of water splashing caught your attention, Himiko had finally stepped into the tank. There was only one minute on the clock. One minute left to find out Ryoma's fate.

...It was the longest minute of your life.

Gonta had jumped onto the stage, the timer hit zero, and Tenko immediately rushed forward to open the curtains. Your breath hitched as the curtains were pulled apart, revealing a tank filled with piranhas and....

...and nothing.

The feeling that followed immediately after was some combination of relief and dread. Relief that Ryoma wasn't dead, yet terrifying, disgusting dread at the fact that you have nothing now. Sighs of relief were heard all throughout the room, especially when Himiko popped up moments later.

"Behold! The magnificent Underwater Magic Escape!" Hesitant applause followed afterward. And Tenko threw her arms around Himiko. In another timeline, you might've actually been completely enthralled at the sight. Not this time, though at the very least you managed a small smile.
