Misfortune Route - Chapter 3

Start from the beginning

"Go for it." He insisted.

"Why are you working with the villains too? Why don't you want me going back there?" She asked. "You said you had your own reasons."

"Well," He hummed, rubbing his thumb against her hand. It was nice that she didn't pull away. "This is a secret of mine. I'll share mine and you can share me yours. I remember you telling me you're not one to give anyone's secrets."

She nodded to confirm and he continued, "I'm spying on them. For the Hero Public Safety Commission."

"Oh... so.." She furrowed her eyebrows. "You don't consider any of them your friends?"

"Nah. It's all an act." That was partially true. He did, however,

had a small bond with Twice.

Seeing how Satoko was silent for a moment, he was about to speak.

(I'll just leave it at that. So Dabi was right.) She thought.

"I can trust you?" She asked for reassurance.

"After all these times together, how can you not?" He confirmed. "If I was some schmoe, I would have done something already."

"Then... I'll tell you my story." She ended up telling him about her past life growing up. All of it.

Hawks really was the third person she's ever told.

Not only that, he told her about his deadbeat parents too. It made her rather shocked.

"How can you be so-"

"Me?" Hawks smiled coyly. "Well, I think your upbringing was way worse than mine. Living on the streets and all."

He put his hands on the sides of her shoulders. "If you need to cry, go for it. No one's here to make fun of you. Nor bring you down about it."

"Thanks..." She had a small smile. "Honestly, I don't feel like it anymore. Talking helped."

"Can you stay with me instead, Sunset?" His eyes saddened. "I want to make sure you're alright. I know you wanted to be with them to make things change, but...."

He wrapped his arms around her so suddenly. "I don't think I can let you go again."

"Hawks..." She felt her heart throbbing a bit. How could she say no to that?

She wanted to, really.

But something about being in his arms...

His scent.

Warmth.

It was hard for her to resist. All this time, he had never given her harm. Nor reasons to doubt his actions.

"You don't need to worry about Dabi getting to you." He rubbed her back. "I won't even get into contact with him to ensure it."

"But..." She couldn't even say it. There was guilt in her being. The League... she was very fond of.

Not only that, she was getting fonder of Hawks too.

"I'm not giving him information anymore. I'm done with that when it involves you." He finished.

Somehow and someway, Satoko was convinced to stay with Hawks. It made her feel very confused and torn.

Was this really the best choice?

Dabi and Shigaraki had saved her before. So has Hawks too.

She almost felt obliged to stay with Hawks for saving her this recent incident.
