Chapter 21

I yawned while were making our way inside Rial's Hotel. Inaantok ako dahil wala akong tulog kagabi. Sleepy enough for me not to even care about my surrounding.

"Hi!" A girl approached me. "I'm Avirielle, one of the board members. I hope we can be friends, vice chairwoman."

Tipid ko itong nginitian at nagpatuloy sa paglalakad. We stopped in the lobby and the assistants immediately handed us our room's keycard.

Nang matanggap ko ang susi ay tinignan ko kung saang kwarto ako tutungo.

Room 106, second floor.

I heard them chattering while holding their keycards. Habang ako ay naglakad patungong elevator dahil gusto ko muna magpahinga.

I pressed the second floor's button and leaned on the elevator's wall sideward. I closed my eyes while waiting for the door to close and move. I heard footsteps but I didn't bother to open my eyes.

Rinig ko ang tunog pagsara ng elevator kaya't umayos ako ng tayo ngunit nakasandal pa rin patagilid. Kung pwede lang siguro maglatag dito sa loob ng elevator, baka ginawa ko na.

My phone vibrated. Pikit-mata ko itong kinuha mula sa 'king bulsa at sinagot na hindi tinitignan ang caller.

"Yes?"

"Babi, where are you? Ang tahimik ng opisina niyo. Even Gemma wasn't here, too. Nasaan kayo?" I sensed panic in his voice which made me smile.

"Stop worrying, babi. We're fine here. Uuwi rin kami sa susunod na linggo. Where having a team building here in Siargao—"

"What?! Susunod ako riyan."

Mas lalo akong napangiti. "I told you it's fine, babi. I am safe here. Tatawag ako kapag kailangan kita."

I heard him took a deep breath. "Fine. But never hesitate, okay? I'll come even if it's midnight."

"Yes, sir," natatawa kong tugon.

Nagpaalam din kaagad ito na may pupuntahan pa raw siya kaya't sumang-ayon na lang din ako. Saktong bumukas ang pinto kaya't dinilat ko na ang aking mga mata.

Natulos ako sa 'king kinatatayuan habang nakatitig sa lalaking prenteng nakasandal sa pader at nakaharap sa 'kin. He was giving me cold glares before he started walking out of the elevator.

My hand gripped the handle of my luggage tightly before I started making steps out of the four sided room. Dumiretso agad ako sa room 106 at ini-swipe doon ang keycard na dala ko. I didn't bother throwing him glances and just entered my hotel suite.

Nang makapasok ako ay agad kong ni-lock ang pinto. I took off my sandals and went straight to the bed. Malaki ang buong kwarto kaya't komportable ako. May isang long sofa at flatscreen tv. Meron ding closet at banyo.

Binitiwan ko ang aking dalang bagahe at dumapa sa malambot na kama. Inalis ko ang suot kong blouse at hinayaan na lang ang bra at pantalon ko.

I let darkness eat me. Nagising na lang ako dahil sa ingay na mula sa pag-ring ng phone. Inabot ko ito at dinilat ang aking mga mata. I turned off the alarm and stretched my body against the soft and comfortable mattress.

Bumangon ako sa kama at humikab. Tumayo ako at naglakad patungo sa aking maleta para maghanap ng damit. It's already four in the afternoon, at wala pa akong kain kaya kakain muna ako.

I choose to wear a floral summer dress na hanggang ibabaw ng tuhod ng haba. Kinuha ko ang isang flats na nasa gilid para iyon ang suotin ko. I took a quick shower to freshen up myself before changing my clothes.
