Engaged. Officially.

Im Soo-ah stared at the engagement ring now resting on her finger. So this is what people talk about, she thought. Whenever she saw people on social media post about their new rings, Soo-ah would often assess the clarity of the stone or the design  and other aspects of the aesthetic. However, now that she was the one in that situation, she realized it was more than that.

It meant so much more.

She had cried so much during the proposal that she fell promptly asleep when she and her mother got home. In the silence of the morning she woke up to, Soo-ah was finally able to stare at her ring and reminisce the events of the day before.

Years ago, she thought she would have to settle and marry she felt okay with. Now, she was going to marry someone who makes her heart flutter every time; someone she couldn't wait to be with forever.

Years ago, she thought she would have to learn to live with the lingering loneliness. Now, her heart burst with joy.

She sighed happily. Hyun Jin-heon, how I love you so, she thought.

A sound notified her that a message came in. Checking her phone, she saw a message from the love of her life that made her giggle.

"Did you really say yes to marrying me? I realized men are at a disadvantage in this. I don't have a physical marker of you agreeing!"

Pressing the call button, she greeted him with a whisper. "Good morning, my Love."

"Good morning... I didn't dream yesterday, right? You did say yes?" he asked, voice still hoarse telling her he had just woken up.

"Sad to say..." she started, making him gasp. "... you didn't dream it. You're going to be stuck to me for the rest of your life, Mister."

"Geesh, Soo-ah, you made me worry!" he reprimanded gently.

Giggling, she apologised. "Jin-heon?"

"Hmm?"

"Do you think we could marry soon?" she asked. "I... don't want a long engagement. I really want to start and end my day with you already."

"I would like that, too," Jin-heon agreed. "Do you want a small wedding or a big one? I think my mother would be up to arranging a grand one because that's quite out of my expertise."

"A small one... but I want a pretty one," she admitted, shyly.

"Sure, I'll work on the legal requirements and you look for the wedding ideas you want," he suggested. "Soo-ah, would you be ready to answer questions why we have a quick wedding? I mean, they might ask if you're pregnant."

She sighed. "I know... and ideally I could tell them yes... but... I'm not yet pregnant."

Hyun Jin-heon could sense the disappointment in her voice. "Don't worry. We'll make sure we have a long honeymoon."

Soo-ah chuckled. "Good. That's what I want... Uhm... can the honeymoon start before the wedding?"

Jin-heon was quiet for a little bit before saying, "Get dressed. I'm picking you up in 15 minutes."

Soo-ah laughed. "Do you want me to tell my mom that I'm leaving early to have sex with you?"

"Can't you?"

Soo-ah laughed again. "Oh you."

"What?! I'm just granting your wish!" he said, pouting.

"I know. I'll try tonight okay? My mom might want to go shopping or something," she said. "I want to make sure I spend time with her."
