스물하나 • Yunho & Jiyoon

Start from the beginning

Yunho led him to the back door of the garden which he uses often to enter and exit the house without being caught and they hid behind some trees.

"Watch this."

Yunho started to blow hard until the air was strong enough to bother Min. They two Ganghans watched the man get irritated because of the sudden weather change as he leaned against the front staircase. Jongho chuckled at him.

Then, Yunho blew with more effort and managed to drop a small flower pot from the top of staircase on Min.

"Fuck! My leg!" Min yelled.

His assistant rushed to him and asked him if he was okay.

"This was hilarious, but how is this supposed to distract him?" Jongho commented.

"There's no way this narcissistic man would let his fiancée see him all dirty."

And indeed, Min started to whine that Jiyoon should not see him in this state and that he should go change immediately.

Eventually, his car got farther and farther until Yunho and Jongho couldn't see it anymore.

"Bring my car! Quickly!" Yunho told him throwing him the car keys.

Jongho ran back out from where they entered the garden.

"Tell them you are Woo Min's back-up driver," Yunho added. "They'll let you in."

Jongho's heart accelerated as he got closer to the central gate. The door guard stopped his car and Jongho rolled down his window.

"I-I'm Mr. Woo's back-up driver. He has something to take care of and he can't pick Ms. Moon up himself today," he muttered, trying to seem as convincing as possible.

"Wait a second, sir," the guard said and talked to his walkie talkie. "You may enter," he finally said.

Jongho sighed, relieved. "You did good, Renwoo."

He drove all the way to the mansion and saw Yunho walking to him. At that moment, the door opened revealing Mrs. Moon.

"Who of you two is Jeong?" she asked furiously as she ran down the stairs. Renwoo followed a few steps behind her.

Yunho stepped out. "Me."

Mrs. Moon stood in front of him. "I refuse to let you take my daughter."

Yunho took a big breath. "These are the rules. You can't do anything about it."

"Yes, I can! Besides, your family have broken the rules before."

"And that's why we can't do it again. That was our deal."

Mrs. Moon sighed deeply and fell on her knees. "Please... Please, I beg you, don't take her..." she said, while tears ran down her face.

"Mrs. Moon, don't do this... Jiyoon might see you..."

"Right," she murmured and got up.

As she got up, Jongho noticed something on her back. 'Oh, shit! She is marked too?!' he thought. He wondered why her Ganghan hasn't searched for her yet and if that incident had something to do with the deal Yunho talked about.

"We have to do it, ma'am. I'm very sorry," Yunho continued.

"You shouldn't say things you don't mean, young man..." the lady mocked him.

"Then you shouldn't prefer rescuing yourself rather than your daughter, ma'am."

Mrs. Moon didn't know what to answer. He was right. She acted selfishly back then.

"Mother?" A female voice said out loud to be heard.

Yunho raised his head at the hearing of Jiyoon's voice.

"Yes, darling?" Mrs. Moon turned to face her daughter walking down the stairs, while she wiped her tears off in a hurry.

"Where's Min?"

"Well,... He can't pick you up today. Those... men will give you a lift to school."

She took a look at them, first at Jongho and then at Yunho who held her gaze, since it's been a long time since she last looked at him. "Oh, okay. Bye, then!" she simply told her mother, breaking the eye contact with the strangely familiar man and entering the car.

"Take care, darling," Mrs. Moon almost whispered, but her daughter heard her.

"I will, mum... What's wrong with you today?" she said sensing her mother's sensitivity.

"Nothing. I'm just saying."

With that, all three men entered the car and drove off.

"So, are you new?" Jiyoon asked.

Renwoo, as well as Jongho, turned to look at her. Yunho looked at her through the mirror.

"New to what?" Jongho wondered.

"To the work? I mean... I haven't seen you before."

The two Ganghans looked at Yunho, not knowing how to reply.

"Well," Yunho began "we don't actually work for Woo Min."

The girl furrowed her eyebrows trying to understand, while she played with the neck tie of her school uniform.

"We are driving you to your new home."

"N-new home?!" She shouted making Renwoo, who was sitting beside her, flinch. "Wait... Are my parents aware of this?"

Yunho didn't know what to do. He didn't want her to blame her parents for this. It would be better if he took all the blame. "No, not really..."

"Does that mean I am kidnapped?!" she rushed to take her cellphone in her hands, but Renwoo snatched it right away.

"You are not kidnapped. Wait till we get to Ganghan City. Yunho will explain it all to you."

"Ganghan City? I... I can't live in countryside... And who's Yunho?" she said furiously.

"I am."

'Oh... The weird guy... I knew it from the start that something was off with him and his intense gaze...'
