(Jordie)
I felt the hot simmering summer air on my face. It was July. Scar and I were at the beach. I spreaded the checkered picnic blanket on the hot sand. I popped open the umbrella and stuffed it in the ground. Scar wore high wasted short shorts and a crop top over her floral bathing suit. We sprayed sunblock on each other then laid on the blanket. I asked,
"So what's your story? "
I felt her tense beside me. She whispered,
" If I tell you you'll run."
I turned on my side to look at her,
" Scar, I would never do that. You don't have to tell me now."
She turned away from me,
"Later. What's your story? "
I shook my head even though she wasn't looking at me,
" I'll open up once you do. How 'bout we do this. You get twenty questions. I get twenty questions."
She nodded,
"I'll go first. Where are your parents? "
I shrugged,
" I don't know. I'm a orphan. The orphanage let me go at the age eighteen. "
Scar turned around. Sympathy filled her eyes,
"You never asked?"
I ignored her question,
" My turn. Where's your dad? "
She answered straightforward,
" New York- I think. "
I asked,
" Your parents divorced? "
Like I did to her earlier she ignored my question. I sat up grabbing the bag with food. I grabbed sandwiches, strawberries and water bottles. We ate until there was one strawberry left. Scar quickly grabbed the strawberry. I glared at her and she fluttered her eyelashes innocently swinging the strawberry in the air. I tackled her and she screamed. She tried to reach her mouth eating the strawberry but I held down her arms easily. I realized I was straddling her holding down her wrists with my knees. I smirked at her and her eyes went blank. While she was distracted I stole the strawberry. She huffed as I licked the strawberry.
"Haha! Now it's mine. "
As I climbed off of her and did my victory dance she grabbed the strawberry quickly dropping it in her mouth. I picked her up quickly,
" Oh your going to pay. "
I sprinted toward the water with her in my arms. Scar shouted,
" Jordie! "
I splashed into the cold water soaking our clothes. I let go of her and she fell into the water. She smacked my shoulder and laughed,
" Your insane. "
I winked at her. I had my bathing suit on so I just slipped off my shirt and started swimming around her. She shivered and shook her head at me. I stopped swimming and grabbed her arms to pull her closer. The sun was going to go down soon. Barley anyone was swimming. I whispered,
"Swim with me. "
Scar pulled her shirt over her head getting it stuck on her ears. I laughed as she struggled. I removed her hands from the shirt and it fell down her neck. I slipped my fingers onto the fabric and carefully pulled it completely off. She unbuckled her shorts and slipped them off her long legs.
I grabbed her wrist dragging her deeper into the ocean.
