-------

When Flippy first flipped, it had been during a fun night in the woods with Flaky, Giggles, and Cuddles. It was his first time in ages hanging out with people close to his age.

Things had been well when he first moved here. He had made great friends. He met a wonderful girl, Flaky, when he was moving in.

Timid. Shy. Kind. The way she was scared, but brave about living in their world. Flippy didn't know about the curse when they started hanging out. Either she didn't want to tell him or she honestly forgot to.

He didn't know about Fliqpy until the campfire started popping. While he hadn't thought about it since he left, the popping embers sounded like gunshots. Gunshots from when he was in active duty in the war. The battle field was alive with bullets and blood from enemies and allies alike. The flames only added to the recreation of death that surrounded him. His friends didn't look like his friends anymore.

They looked like enemies, laughing at his allies as they fell to the ground, dead with a thousand yard stare.

When he came to, he was eating a roasted marshmellow over her roasted body by the mutilated bodies of Cuddles and Giggles. He didn't know what to do and he ended up running away.

Imagine his surprise when he saw Flaky the next day walking into town.

"You're... you're alive..."

He had run out of his house and confronted her. His hands shaking in relief and confusion. It was that day he heard the voice.

I burned her to death. Why the fuck is she alive?

He flinched and Flaky flinched as well. He was a wreck.

"I-I fo-forgot t-to te-tell you... b-but wh-why?"

Flippy's confusion was obvious, "Tell me what? What are you talking about?"

He grabbed her hand and she flinched again, trying to pull away, "Wh-why did y-you k-kill us? Wh-what did we-we ever d-do to y-you? I-I thought w-we were f-friends!"

She ripped her hand away and Flippy stared at her, remembering last night.

"I... I don't know why... Flaky, I don't know why I did that. Please believe me, I had no control!"

She stared at him in disbelief, "I-I... ple-please leave m-me alone... f-for a li-little wh-while... I n-need time t-to thi-think..."

Flippy stood there as she hurriedly walked away. She wouldn't look him in the eye.

Who the hell does she think she is walking away from us?

Flippy grabbed his head and looked around. No one was around to hear the voice.

"Who-who are you? Where are you?"

Who am I? I'm... Fliqpy... I'm you and you are me.

Flippy stumbled back to his house, his heart racing, "What are you talking about? Why are you in my head? Am I... am I going crazy?"

The voice laughed. It sounded hollow and rough.

You going crazy? If pigs could fly, that means I'm sane.

"What are you?"

The voice didn't say anything as he sat against the floor.

"Why did you kill my friends? What did they ever do to you? To me?"

... I'm not sure myself... but it was fun.

Flippy flinched and shot up, "It was not! You– I– we killed them! Mercilessly! For no reason!"

It didn't feel like no reason to me. Why are you upset? If that red girl is back that means the other two are as well.

"That's not the point! She's scared of me now!"

He felt a warmth go through him, but it wasn't from himself. The voice laughed again, this time he could hear the cruelty in it.

Such simple lives they live in this time. No real heartache. No battles to fight. They haven't seen what I've seen. What you've seen. If anything, they deserved it. They all deserve it.

Flippy trembled as he covered his mouth.

Why is this happening? I don't understand what's going on? Why did I... what is this voice?

The look on Flaky's face was seared into his mind. The fear. The horror. It broke his heart to see the girl he cared for look at him like that.

There's something strange about this town. Why don't we go out and figure out what it was she wouldn't tell us?

Flippy frowned. Flaky did say she forgot to mention something to him. While he was still confused and terrified about the voice, he had to know what she forgot to tell him. It was definitely related to how she came back from the dead. There was no other thing she could have hidden from him.

I'll... get her some flowers and apologize again...
