The next mission begins and Tony, Wanda, Thor and Steve are fighting together.
"We good?" Tony says, not bothering to look at his comrades either side of him, when he speaks.
"Errrm..." Thor replies, looking around at the surroundings they've found themselves in.
"Yeah....what exactly is this place?" Tony asks absentmindedly.
He patches into your comms.
"You in position?" He asks you, receiving silence as his reply. He looks back at Steve, who then tries to reach you too. When all four of them have tried a few times more, Tony starts to get concerned.
"Where is she?" He mutters to himself. "SAM! Do you have eyes on her."
Further afield, at a different post Tony has directed him to, Sam flies onto a high buildings roof, to get an improved vantage point.
"She's definitely not in my sights Tony." He replies.
"Sh*t!" They all hear Bucky murmur as the realisation that you're missing hits home.
"Ah jesus, hold tight guys, I've got company here." Tony says, frustrated that he's now having to deal with another issue, while worrying about your whereabouts.
"DO YOU COPY?" He says, one more time into your comms.
"I'm here Tony, sorry! I think my earpiece was down for a moment there!" You reply.
"JESUS!" You hear Bucky yell with relief, as he continues to fight his way against agents at his post.
As you all take up positions once again, the battle is quicker than the previous-and the Hydra agents are either secured or incapacitated due to injury.
Making your way back to the compound, you make eyes with Bucky on arrival, and he signals for you to cut away so he can speak to you.
"I was worried about you then." He says, as you enter a side corridor away from the rest of the team.
"Oh right? Not mad at me anymore then...." You say, irritated that he could change his behaviour towards you so quickly.
"I was never mad at you! I just didn't agree with how we were dealing with our situation, that's all!" He says, leaning in to kiss you.
"Oh no! You can't get around me with those kisses Barnes!" You say smiling slightly. "Besides. I'm fine! Comms issue, like I said earlier."
"Hmmmm, OK." He replies. "Let's just agree not to go scaring me like that again, ok?"
You openly laugh this time.
"Yeah, yeah, Needy McNeedyson. Go on, let me get in a shower and I'll come find you later."
He nods before walking back down the corridor you both entered from. Not before he turns back, smiles and gives you a cheeky wink.
