2 days after returning home from Hawaii-
Sadly, that was the friends last vacation together. Claire passed away peacefully in her sleep the night before from the disease. Melissa called Caroline and told her the heartbreaking news.
6 days later-
Caroline steps out of the car into a large parking lot, probably one of the last places on earth she would ever want to be on a beautiful warm spring day. A funeral home. The service will last about 1 hour then the burial service will proceed. Caroline didn't even make it into the building before she lost it she couldn't help it, her best friend was gone. They would never talk again, never see her pretty smile, or anything together again, couldn't re-live old memories, she was peaceful in heaven not suffering on earth. The service ended and the burial happened, Caroline was able to shovel and toss on the first pile of dirt onto Claire Abigail Johson's grave aged 20. Much too young for someone to die. She never had a boyfriend, never had a drink she was close to becoming 21 and being able to legally have her first drink. Claire died 18 days before her 21st birthday.
