Shigaraki's Route - Chapter 3

Start from the beginning

His initial plan was to have everyone locked up. For Satoko to be in jail. She'll die?

Satoko moved towards Hawks. Her wound she received from him was bleeding, but she was still able to function. It's strange for her. She has been so depressed over Dabi. It still hurts her greatly.

But does she want to die anymore? She sees the others having their lives in danger.

If there's a death penalty, that means everyone in jail currently are going to be slaughtered.

(They're human too!) She thought angrily. Still not able to use her quirk, she landed a blow into Hawks's leg. There was a cracking sound indicating she broke it.

(It's no use.) Shigaraki took a step back. (I can't risk losing anyone. We have to escape.)

Shigaraki looked towards Twice. He was probably their best option, but he was bleeding a lot. There was no doubt that he would die if he made clones to distract the heroes.

Twice understood immediately without Shigaraki even speaking a word. He knew what he would have to do and what the price would be in order to save everyone. He gave a nod towards Shigaraki.

Shigaraki took off in his direction. Lady Nagant aimed her gun in his direction, taking her attention off of Toga.

(We're all going to die here for being outnumbered.) Satoko gritted her teeth. She knows she isn't any match without her quirk.

She saw that Shigaraki was being targeted by Lady Nagant. She tackled Shigaraki out of the way from her attack, causing her to fall onto him.

Toga sees that this fighting is suicide. They would all die here. Without Satoko's quirk, she can't get them all away. She fought Aizawa off as she started to get herself to flee.

"Jin, come on!" She beckoned, not realizing his plan.

Twice shook his head. "I'm not coming with you."

Memories of the league went through his head. Those people were his family. He couldn't let them be killed. He would likely die anyway from an injury like that.

He struggled due to the pain, but he was able to make clones of himself. It was the first time in years that he was able to do that. The accomplishment would have been a happy one if he wasn't about to sacrifice himself.

Lady Nagant took a small step backwards. "I thought he couldn't clone himself!"

Shigaraki got up from the ground. He pulled Satoko up with him. Lady Nagant took aim for them, but the clones took all of the impact. There was a path for them to escape.

On the way there, Satoko grabbed Toga for trying to help. She was screaming and struggling.

Twice's clones kept producing, covering the heroes' view on the others escaping.

Shigaraki took Satoko and Toga in their secret underground get away. Satoko had Toga in her grip, making it hard for Toga to get out of her grasp.

Being away from Aizawa's sight, Satoko finally managed to get her voice back.

"We need to keep going!" Satoko huffed.

"Jin's gonna die if I don't go back!" Toga argued. There was a rumbling sensation on the floor above them.

"He's going to die anyway." Shigaraki had his back to them as he led the way through the damp tunnel. "He's losing too much blood."

...

Twice's movements were starting to slow. It pained him to keep up his distraction. He lost his footing when another bullet went through his chest. He fell backwards with a thump.

He could feel his body shutting down. What a horrible feeling it was.

"I don't care what you say! Our lives are worth just as much!" The front of Twice's mask started to darken with tears.

The heroes simply watched. They didn't make a move to lessen his pain in any way. After a few seconds, he was gone.

Aizawa pressed his hand against his side where he was bleeding. "Was that really necessary?"

Lady Nagant's arm went back to normal. "Heroes like you usually aren't supposed to be involved in this sort of thing. Don't mention it to anyone. Your lives could be threatened if society knows that we were told to do this."

"You alright, Hawks?" Fatgum asked. "We need to get that injury healed up."

Hawks's leg was broken due to Satoko. He felt that it was well deserved after causing her to bleed like that.

"Let's retreat. We'll scope them out after I recover." He gave a fake smile as if nothing was wrong.

Regret flooded Hawks's mind. He could have sworn he seen pure hatred in Satoko eyes earlier. He doesn't blame her.

His grief for losing Endeavor, he didn't even think how Satoko was possibly feeling. She lost someone too. A sociopath killer.

Someone she wanted to save.

(We can't save everyone.) He closed his eyes for a moment before turning towards Lady Nagant.

"We really have to kill every villain, is what you're saying? Are jails now murdering people in there?" He asked. "How are we keeping this a secret?"

"Not all of the current inmates are being killed," she explained. "Only the murderers. The reason that they wanted us to kill these ones is because this group is particularly dangerous. I don't like this either, but..."

She couldn't do anything about it. The others would have an easier job quitting if they wanted to because they were more public heroes. Lady Nagant didn't have that luxury. Unless she was to tear down hero society, she was stuck with the job that she was given.

Aizawa was able to put the pieces of the puzzle together. "How many times have you done things like this?"

Lady Nagant ignored his question entirely. "Let's get going. We can think of something on the way."

Fatgum had to carry Hawks out.

Hawks looked towards where Twice's corpse laid. He cared and respected him too. Those last words of his haunted his mind, but there was no turning back now.

...

Shigaraki led them to another place that was a secret hideout. One that wasn't on the radar. Toga felt overwhelmed by this nonstop grief. Another member had died. It was getting too much for her too.

She only realized Twice was gone since he never ended showing up for weeks. She shut herself away in one of the rooms when she started to accept he was dead.

Again, Satoko couldn't do anything. She felt so powerless in that fight. Aizawa was definitely a big weakness on her part.

It was strange that Hawks had even hurt Satoko. She knows she shouldn't be surprised or hurt.

(He's such a liar.) To think, she had little trust in him. All those times he helped her really was for his own recognition, wasn't it?
