!!!

His silky denim blue hair, and his dull gray eyes similar to Lilianne's. His radiant pale skin makes him incomparable to the most beautiful women.

He was tall, and muscular. His expression was cold, and serious. What do you expect from a living devil.

Lilianne finally reached Melanie who was blank. She hugged her in greeting, "I missed you!" She said.

By then, Melanie tried her best to compose herself. But she looked pale.

"Are you sick again?" Lilianne asked.

"No, I'm fine. I've missed you too." Melanie smiled.

"Oh right!" Lilianne let go of their embrace, and stood beside her brother. "This is my older brother, Prince Peter!"

"It's a pleasure to meet you your highness." She bowed, along with the twins behind her.

"Raise your head." He said with a cold tone. So she did, but her eyes were trembling.

"Let's go have some tea." Lilianne grabbed Melanie's hand, as they rush towards the palace's garden.

...

The twins were asked to stay nearby, but not in sight.

It's quite unfortunate, since in the novel... the crown prince and the twins were close friends.

"Melanie are you okay?" Lilianne asked.

While Melanie who was simply trying to drink tea, her hands were trembling.

She was finally got a sip...

"I heard you and my sister are close? What dirty tricks did you pull?" Peter said with a cold gaze.

Melanie ended up spitting her tea, "Pardon?" she wipped her mouth with a handkerchief.

"Oh my, what are you saying brother?" Lilianne questioned.

He stands up, pulling out his sword. Right then, he points it right on her neck. "How can you trust someone like her?" he glared.

"..." She remained calm, but inside she was crying and trembling.

"Brother!" Lilianne shouted.

The twins appear out of nowhere, and point their swords at him.

"Ethan, Evan please put your swords down. It's inappropriate to point your swords at his highness." Melanie said with a cold tone.

They hesitated at first, but they put down their swords. "We apologize your highness." As they bow.

"Please forgive my knights. They might seem uneducated, but they simply mean to protect their master. If you wish to take their lives, take mine instead." She said nonchalantly.

The twins' eyes widen in shock, their expression showed distress.

'Is this where I die??? Just when I was avoiding a death flag so I could live a bit longer...' Melanie thought.

"Brother! Enough! I understand you're only worried for me, but she's not bad like those other girls! Please trust her!" Lilianne said as she held on his hand.

Peter still wouldn't put his sword down, until Lilianne started showing tears...

He slowly put down his sword, "I'm sorry. Don't cry." He wiped his tears.

Melanie couldn't help but feel exhausted, but as she observed them.. they were stunning. It was as if they were shining.

"Forgive me, Lady Melanie. I was only looking out for my sister." Peter said.

Melanie smiled, "I understand."

After that, Peter's eyes were fixated on Melanie. 'What's with her?' He thought.

Melanie turned to the twins, and patted their heads. "Go now, do not worry." She whispered.

Their eyebrows were furrowed, they felt angry. Because of them, their master's life was at risk.

Before leaving, they whispered "We're sorry." as they go somewhere away from them.

She couldn't help but feel bad, and give a pained expression. 'It's not your fault...' She thought.

Before turning back to the prince and princess who were still having their shining time..

"Shall we go on a walk?" Lilianne stood up excitedly. Grabbing both Melanie and Peter's hands to rush by the beautiful garden.

From time to time, they would chat, but it would turn into a silent walk.

While walking, they stop by a beautiful rose field. 'Wow this is a big ass garden.' Melanie thought.

Although the mood between Peter and Melanie wasn't the best...

It wasn't half as bad...since...

"Oh my! Haha~" Lilianne gave the sweetest smile, as a butterfly landed on her finger.

In the original novel, Lilianne would always be crying in her room. She'd discourage herself from doing anything.

Peter watched her with a soft expression, like he truly cared for his sister. He gave a warm smile, as Lilianne enjoyed herself.

Melanie noticed, she glanced at him. 'To think he'd kill his sister but looks at her like that... maybe he isn't so bad after all.' She was delighted by this view.

Until Peter noticed she was staring, and glared at Melanie.

She immediately averted her gaze to somehwere else.

"Melanie, look!" Lilianne approached her with a handful of caterpillars and bugs.

"...?!?! How'd you get that much-" Melanie's expression was priceless. She looked shock yet enlightened at the same time.

"Oh my be careful of this bug, it can sting you!" She said as she removes the bug from her hand and throws it away.

"You seem to know about bugs? Why didn't you tell me?" Lilianne asked.

"Oh, I just happened to read it from a book..." She said.

But really it was from her past life, she had to study bugs for her class and was really grossed out at first. That was until one time, a bug bit her mother... now she likes bugs.

"This one looks like you!" Lilianne shows a twitching caterpillar.

The caterpillar looked half dead, it somehow seemed pitiful.

"I-" Melanie was cut off by the prince... "Pfft!"

Melanie glared at him before putting it aside, "Is that supposed to be a compliment?" She said.

Lilianne threw away the other bugs, whilst keeping the one that looks like melanie...

"I'm calling her MelMel! What a cute little caterpillar, I hope you don't get sick often like the person I named you after!" She smiled.

Melanie just chuckled, and thought it was adorable.

Somehow, Prince Peter thought so too. But not just Lilianne... rather the two of them laughing together, was delightful.

...!

"Yooo! Your highness!" A man's voice called from afar.

"Oh? Isn't that Cyro?" Lilianne said.

Melanie froze the moment she heard the name... Cyro...

'N-no way... Why do I keep running into the main characters ?!?!' She screamed in her head.
