Chapter Six,  Flashbacks

*Flashback*

Four year old Evie giggled as she painted with her older brother, Kai. They were painting a portrait of them with their late mother, who was holding a baby Evie in her arms and holding hands with a fourteen year old Kai. Kai grinned as he heard the precious giggles of his adorable baby sister. He had offered to paint with her to take her mind off of Liv and Luke bullying her once again, and Evie had been more than happy to paint with her favorite sibling.
"Kai, why Mummy leave us? Was we not good for Mummy?" Little Evie asked curiously.

"No, my little Ophelia, Mummy loved us so very much. But unfortunately Mother Hecate called her home, Mummy loved us so much that she gave me you, you look so much like Mummy and you are so kind just like her." Kai answered, as he put down his paintbrush and scooped up his baby sister in a sweet embrace.
"I love you, Kai- Kai, me and Mummy love you, otay?" Evie told her favorite brother seriously, kissing his cheek. Kai smiled at how sweet and innocent she was and his only thought, as he kissed her temple: was that he wanted to protect her.

Once they finished, Kai used his magic to hide their beloved painting of them with their late mother, the beautiful Seraphine Parker, known as Sera. He would never allow his other siblings to lay eyes or lay their filthy hands upon his and Evie's portrait of their mother with the child versions of themselves. As they washed their hands, Liv and Luke walked into the room, led by their older sister, Josette, known as Jo, who was Kai's twin sister.
"Evie, these two want to apologise for what they said. They should've never said what they did and I've already punished them too." Jo told Evie, who nodded and hid partially behind Kai's leg, peering out at her slightly older siblings.

Liv rolled her eyes and scowled while Luke put on a fake smile.
"We're sorry for calling you a freak, Evie," The two darker blonde haired children apologised insincerely and by Jo's frown, she noticed it as well. Jo then leaned down to Evie's height and spoke softly to her.
"I've taken away their magic, they think it was Dad but I did it so that they can never hurt you again, they know that you and Kai are Siphoners but they have no idea that I'm one too." Jo whispered to Evie, who grinned cutely and hugged her favorite sister.

"Thank you, Jo, I love you, otay?" Evie laughed cutely, as Jo kissed her baby sister's forehead.
"I'll always love you and Kai and Mummy, baby cakes." Jo murmured, as Kai joined in on their group hug after Liv and Luke had left the room in a huff.

*End of flashback*

"Penny for your thoughts." Kol said, as he and Kai entered the living room after hunting, although despite the light tone they both had concerned frowns upon their faces as they had called Evie a few times now with no answer. "Baby?"
"Ophelia?"
Kol and Kai ask at the same time, sitting down on either side of her; Kol pulling her into his chest kissing her temple lovingly, while Kai took her hand and gave it a soft squeeze.
"I was just remembering when I was four and you were eighteen, Kai, and we painted that picture of us and Mum." Evie said sadly. "Why do Liv and Luke hate me?"

"Because they're idiots! And they are sheep!" Kol growled. "Anyone who doesn't see how precious and amazing my mate and love of my life is, is not worth your time, love or compassion, darling." He declared strongly and passionately, gently lifting her chin up so he could kiss her passionately causing a small moan to escape her lips.
"Oi! Older brother sitting right here!" Kai said loudly, pulling them apart. Disgust clear on his face. "That is a sound I never want to hear you make again, Ophelia. But Kol is right, they do not deserve you and are simply jealous of you. Not only are you more compassionate than them, you are also kinder, you look like our mother, you are way more powerful than the two of them put together and you're more beautiful than Liv and she hates it."

"Kai!" Evie warned.
"What? It's true! You know I'd never lie to you. I never have and I do not intend on starting now, or ever actually. You are and always have been my light in my life, my little Ophelia. Jo may have sworn to be there for us then but she hasn't been. Not since that one time, more so me than you, but that's besides the point. The point is my own twin lied to me and abandoned me. Abandoned you! And I will never do that. Now that I'm a vampire and a witch, a Heretic, I can better protect my little sister. And if those two idiots and the morons of the rest of our family try to hurt you, I'll kill them." Kai promised.
"I'll always be there for you too Kai, you know that. I'd never abandon my big brother who's always been more a father to me than our own. Anyone who tries to kill you or Kol and I'll kill them first." Evie promised.

"I'd never let anything happen to you Kol, I love you and would rather die than see you die. Those imbeciles known as the Scooby gang and the rest of your family will no longer hurt you. You'll always have always and forever with me." Evie said, turning so she sat in his lap, a hand resting on his cheek. Kol smiled at this amazing woman and rested his hand over hers, turning slightly to place a kiss to her palm.
"Thank you darling. But I'd rather not see you die protecting me, if you did I'd let Kai kill me." Kol said softly.
"And it'll be slow and painful." Kai promised, interrupting them. Kol nodded his understanding and turned back to Evie.

"You are my always and forever Evie, you have been since the first day I met you. I'll protect you and love you till my dying breath. You've given me everything. You've given me my magic back Erich opened up the chance to have children with my gorgeous mate. And for the first time in a thousand years I feel complete and it's all thanks to you darling. I love you, always and forever." Kol whispered against her lips.
"I love you too, Kol. Always and forever." Evie whispered back.
"Always and forever." Kai added. "Now, how about some films?" He suggested, interrupting their kiss once again and earning a glare from the both of them. But that was one thing he did not wish to hear or was ready to see was his little Ophelia making out with her mate.

No, they could do it in their room where he could feign ignorance.
"You're lucky I love you." Evie said, kissing her brother's cheek as she got up to pick a film.
"You're lucky she loves you and that I like you." Kol growled, his eyes red with black veins beneath his eyes. Kai just smiled and shrugged his shoulders at the cock-blocked Original.
