Chapter Two, A Date and a Flashback

For the first time in a long time Evie woke up without worry. She was away from her deranged family, away from the Scooby gang, and they were away from the rest of Kol's family who always put him second and never included him in their 'Always and Forever'. They were safe now. Safe in New Orleans, and all would be perfect if they could help Kai, and Evie figure out a way to unlock Kol's magic, as it seems she'd locked him away when she locked away Klaus's wolf but with a different spell. The trick was figuring out what. As for today, their first full day in their new home and in a new city, Kol was taking her on a date so she supposed she better hurry up and finish in the shower. Her mind, however, had other ideas as she was pulled into a flashback of when they first met.

~ Flashback ~

Evie couldn't believe how selfish her siblings were. They were supposed to be triplets but they like the rest of their crazy family shunned her and claimed her an outcast all because she was the only triplet in their family and was born with her own magic but could siphon a little just like Kai, like it was their fault on how they were born. Glaring at her older siblings one last time she stormed away from them, not even paying the slightest bit of attention to where she was going until she bumped into a rock hard chest. She closed her eyes as she expected to be met with the hard concrete only to feel warm arms around her waist.
"Now, why is a beautiful young woman such as yourself crying?" The person asked, who turned out to be a tall, muscular and beautiful man with an English accent, dark brown wavy, styled hair and gorgeous brown eyes. Evie hadn't even realised she was crying.

"You're too beautiful to waste your tears on any man, darling." He said again, as Evie righted herself.
"I'm sorry I didn't mean to bump into you." Evie apologised, wiping away her tears.
"No harm done. Who was this imbecile that made you cry like this?" He asked angrily, as they walked towards the Mystic Grill.
"My siblings. My family." Evie scoffed.
"Well that's even less reason to cry over them. If they can't appreciate the raw beauty that you are, they're not worth it. I'm Kol Mikaelson." He said, pausing outside the Grill and sticking out his hand.
"Evangeline Parker. But I prefer Evie." Evie introduced, placing her hand into Kol's. She had expected him to shake it but instead butterflies erupted in her stomach as he brought it up to his lips placing a soft kiss on her knuckles.

"My pleasure. How about I buy you a drink, darling?" He asked flirtatiously.
"I'd like that." Evie agreed, thanking him as he opened the door for her.
"I too wish to forget my dreadful siblings, but more importantly I wish to get to know the beautiful and powerful witch before me. Don't worry I don't mean you any harm, I only know cause I can sense the power rolling off of you. Just like I know, you know I'm an Original." Kol said, before he ordered them something to eat and drink.
"To new beginnings then?" Evie asked, raising her glass of bourbon when it arrived.
"To new beginnings indeed, darling. As long as they are with you." Kol said flirtatiously, a smirk gracing his lips as he tapped his glass against hers, as Evie laughed, shaking her head slightly.

After that they met every week which then became every night as they grew closer and closer and learned things about each other that no one else knew. Kol swore to her that she wasn't an abomination or an outcast, like her family told her she was. She was amazing, kind, caring, loving and fiery all in one and Kol loved that about her. She swore to him she'd help him unlock his magic, which she could tell was beneath the surface but couldn't be accessed and she swore he'd never be second best to her and that she'd always be there.

In return he promised he'd save her from the Merge and help her save Kai, the only sibling who loved her. After she saved him from being killed Elena and Jeremy, was when he started to plan for ways for them to safely escape and leave Mystic Falls behind for good. Including their family that resided here.

~ End of flashback ~

Evie was brought out of her thoughts with a bump when there was a knock on the bathroom door.
"Darling, are you alright? You've been in there awhile." Kol asked, concern shining in his voice.
"I'm fine. Just got lost in thought about when we met." Evie called, not needing to shout as she knew he'd hear her as she quickly finished washing her body, and conditioning her hair. Thankful she'd shaved and shampooed her hair before she got sucked into her thoughts.
"Okay, as long as you're alright that's all that matters. Don't worry if we're late I can always compel them. I love you." Kol called through the door.
"I love you too." Evie said happily, as she finally shut off the water. Using her magic she quickly dried her body and hair, brushed her teeth and put on some deodorant and her favourite perfume before slipping into her lacey pink underwear.

"Now, this I like." Kol said smirking, standing up from the bed and wrapping his arms around Evie kissing down her neck.
"Stop." Evie laughed, trying to suppress a moan. "I need to get dressed. Don't pout, maybe if you let me get dressed and ready now we can continue this later." Evie whispered, standing on her toes and biting his lip, causing his eyes to darken. Kol closed his eyes, taking in a heavy, deep breath before he opened his eyes once again.
"Fine. But I'm holding you to it, darling." Kol grumbled teasingly, as he stomped out the bedroom making Evie laugh which never failed to make him laugh. It had rapidly become his favourite sound during their time together. Shaking her head at her dramatic boyfriend with a smile on her face Evie started to work on her hair and makeup.

She put her hair into a curled ponytail with a braid running through it. She had smokey pink eyeshadow with purple eyeliner on the bottom, black on the top, black mascara and pink lipstick. Once everything was put away she started getting dressed into pink jeans, a black peplum blouse, a pink jacket and black heels. Once her jewellery was on, she grabbed her black clutch and left the bedroom. Nearly bumping into Kol as he was standing just outside the door.
"Wow." He said, amazed, as soon as he laid eyes on Evie. "You look stunning darling."
"Thank you. You look handsome Kol." Evie said, a blush covering her cheeks as she kissed his cheek. He wore black jeans, a white button up shirt and black shoes.
"Thank you darling." Kol said smirking, pressing a kiss to her own cheek. "Ready to head to Rousseau's?" He asked, holding out his arm. Smiling broadly Evie linked her arm through his as they left their home, walking through the streets of New Orleans as they took in the beautiful sights.

When they reached the restaurant/bar they were led to a private table at the back that had lit candles in the middle.
"My lady." Kol said, pulling out her chair.
"Why thank you, Sir." Evie played along, laughing as he took his own seat. They had a wonderful dinner and even fed each other some of their desserts. Once Kol had paid, as he wouldn't allow Evie to even pay or go halves with him, he stood from his chair and held his hand out to her.
"Care to dance, darling?" He asked.
"I'd love to." Evie agreed happily, slipping her hand into his as he pulled her up. The pair of them danced and laughed on the dance floor oblivious to everyone else as they got lost in each other and enjoyed their time together.
